The Dude's Top Twelve List: Burgers

Did you know that May was National Burger Month? Well, now you know, and what better way to recap National Burger Month with a personal hit list of favorites, the Dude's Top Twelve. Why twelve? Why not. So here goes, in no particular order, my top burger picks...

The Lusso Demi Pound Burger. Premium quality US beef stuffed with rich and indulgent foie gras, then topped with prosecco onions and cambozola cheese, only at Lusso. Find out more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2011/03/lusso-burger-period.html.

The Pljeskavica at Balkan Express. High grade beef on homemade, freshly baked buns, a delicious Balkan take on burgers. Read more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2012/04/ever-tried-balkan-burger.html.

The Bully Boy at Army Navy. A triple beef patty meat lover's delight on a sesame seed kaiser bun. Awesome. Head on to http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2012/02/meet-bully-boy-burger-at-army-navy.html for more on The Bully Boy.

The Fully Loaded Burger at Tender Bob's. A double patty special with grilled onions, tomato, cheese, mushrooms and...bacon! Check out http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2012/05/fully-loaded-burger-at-meat-plus.html for more.

The Double Brothers Burger, a real classic from the local chain that started it all. And after thirteen years, it still rocks. And the signature oatmeal topped bun remains unique to Brothers Burger. Read more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2012/03/back-to-brothers-burger.html.

The Black Angus Burger at Charlie's Grind and Grill. Who can forget the very first branch, where you can get great burgers and a carwash? Very cool. Several branches later, they still churn out great burgers. Check out http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2011/09/nice-to-see-you-again-charlies-grind.html.

The Pita Burger at Konbini Tokyo Market. A different twist on the classic burger, with Japanese garlic mayo, coleslaw and chili sauce. Nice. See more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2012/04/konbini-stores-pita-burger.html.

The Angus Burger at Burger Bar, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. Premium beef patty on a whole wheat onion bun, nothing else. No frills, simply one of the best burgers yet. Owned by top chef Hubert Keller, you just can't leave Vegas without stopping by Burger Bar.Take a break from the slots and bet on a real winner. Read more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2011/09/leaving-las-vegas.html.

The Stuffed Burger at Hash House A Go-Go, Las Vegas. The creators of "twisted farm fare", Hash House offers awesome breakfasts to cure any hangover, as well as awesome burgers with its trademark sprig of rosemary. This one will make you forget a lousy night at the blackjack table. See more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2011/09/leaving-las-vegas.html.

The 8 oz. Fresh Ground Beefsteak at Joe's Cable Car, San Francisco. All burgers are freshly ground as you order, and you can definitely taste the difference. Have a chat with the man himself, Joe, who's usually at the place, and who knows, he might just give you a complimentary coffee mug. Read more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2011/03/thousand-miles.html.

The Black and Blue Burger at Ballard Brothers, Seattle. After a long and tiring road trip, this one saved the day. After the meal, your ready for another long drive. Check out http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2011/03/thousand-miles.html for more good eats.

The Double-Double at In-N-Out. No US vacation would be complete without a stop at In-N-Out, and no burger list should be without this classic. Fast, affordable, and great-tasting burgers, real good value for money. See more at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2011/03/thousand-miles.html.

So there you go, my top picks, but definitely not a final list. There's still more burgers out there that I have to try, and it's really never too late to celebrate National Burger Month. And I celebrate it every month. Watch out for another Top twelve soon. What's your burger list?
