A sudden flash of inspiration, and it becomes more than just a cup of coffee...
Figaro's Cappuccino (P 95, small). Full bodied flavor, perfect to start or end the day.
Latte art was developed in Italy, and popularized in the early eighties in Seattle by Espresso Vivace. Through the years, unique and creative patterns have emerged.
Latte art can be achieved by either free pouring or etching techniques, and both styles can be difficult to master. But in the hands of a seasoned barista, and a little inspiration, each cup is transformed into edible art.
Simple lines or intricate patterns can take a simple cup of coffee to a whole new level, like Figaro's Cafe Latte (P 95)...
...and Figaro's Cafe Mocha (P 105).
The Cafe Mocha at Slice (P 130), with a side of granola.
The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's White Chocolate Dream (P 120, small), rich, sweet, great as is or with a muffin.

And what better way to enjoy a cup of coffee than with a little visual treat. And just like a good cup of coffee, latte art doesn't last very long, a temporary but welcome break from a busy day.

Okay honestly, don't latte arts just put a smile on your face? It certainly brightens up my day for sure. I've had many good times with friends at Coffee Bean (more than Starbucks, actually) so this is bringing back quite a few memories... Thanks for this, Gerry =)
ReplyDeleteHey Winston, nothing like a little art to go with the coffee, it just completes the whole experience! Thanks for stopping by buddy!
