Thankful and Blessed: An Appreciation Dinner at Passion

Another year rolls by and despite the challenges, there's just so much to be thankful for...

Changing seasons and the passage of time are often marked by unique and rich flavors with vibrant notes to celebrate and give thanks for another fruitful year. Resorts World Manila recently hosted an appreciation dinner for the media at Passion, Maxims Hotel's flagship Chinese fine dining restaurant with a lavish feast of their signature dishes. It's been quite a year, and Resorts World Manila sets the tone in thanksgiving for another year as the new one comes around...

With the holidays just around the corner, it was a good time to stop and take stock of a year marked by the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, a year filled with optimism tempered by challenges. Through it all, Resorts World Manila marks the passing of another year with a thanksgiving dinner for selected guests at Passion.

Passion served their bestsellers, signature dishes that are part of any festive celebration. A hearty and comforting bowl of Sweet Corn and Crab Meat Soup (P 300 per person) kicked off our feast...

...followed by the BBQ Meat Combination (P 1,200) with a variety of tasty bites and really a meal in itself.

A pair of elegant seafood dishes were then served, with the Hot Prawn Salad (P 1,300) offering both textural contrasts and bold flavors with each bite. The plump prawns deliver an audible snap, a sign of freshness, releasing clean, briny and mildly sweet notes followed by the tart and sweet hints of the glaze draping each prawn. It's dishes like this that make Passion a popular dining destination at Resorts World Manila's Maxims Hotel.

The Steamed Live Garoupa with Soy Sauce (P 320/100 grams) topped with fresh herbs is an impressive dish. The delicately steamed whole fish is melt-in-your-mouth soft with subtle flavors, capped by the distinct notes of the light soy sauce. Just perfect.

The fork-tender Pan-Fried Beef Tenderloin in Mandarin Sauce (P 1,100) has all the savory richness of beef paired with fresh vegetables. Perfectly seared on the outside without being overdone, each bite coats your palate with beefy notes as you go for another piece. And another.

From Passion's assorted roastings, a platter of Soy Chicken capped our thanksgiving feast. Authentic Chinese flavors and a whole lot to be thankful for...at Passion.
