The #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan Makes a Flavorful Pitstop at The Westin Manila

One epic culinary journey around the prestigious Marriott International's brands features the different flavors of each property via the innovative #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan. Last June 8, the caravan arrived at The Westin Manila for one of many pitstops... 


Marriott International's travel and loyalty program, Marriott Bonvoy in partnership with Ford embarks on a unique culinary journey with the novel and innovative #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan showcasing the creative and unique flavors of the different brands under one of the largest hotel companies in the world. Each stop highlights the impressive network of brands under Marriott International as well as the culinary styles and personalities of each luxurious property. That weekend, the #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan makes a flavorful pitstop at The Westin Manila...


The bright orange Ford Ranger Wildtrak announces the arrival of the #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan at The Westin Manila in a bold statement of a creative partnership with shared synergies.  The partnership celebrates a new era in experiential travel and culinary exploration championed by both brands, each one an acknowledged leader in their respective categories. 


The #MarriotBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan itinerary includes major destinations around the country reflecting the impressive size and scale of the program with each stop presenting the flavorful offerings from Marriott International's renowned brands.


Last Saturday, it was the turn of The Westin Manila...


...with Executive Chef Rej Casanova (R) at the helm and assisted by Executive Sous Chef Daryl Sy (L). On the menu, a trio of Signature Bites paired with specialty Cold Brews and Pepsi Zero Sugar Free Lime for a one-day only deal at The Westin Manila

The tempting menu included the savory Pork Sisig Donuts (P 399 net/3 pcs), the Cantabria Chili Crab Croquettes (P 399 net/3 pcs) and the Plant-Based Mushroom Souvlaki with Homemade Flat Bread, Pickled Onion and Plant-Based Garlic Sauce (P 360 net/3 pcs). During the event, The Westin Manila also hosted hourly raffles and giveaways from exclusive spa treatments to dining treats and accommodations adding a festive vibe to the #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan


The humid afternoon was the perfect reason to indulge in the specialty Cold Brews (P 250/200ml bottle) of The Westin Manila in refreshingly sweet Caramel Macchiato, nutty Spanish Chocolate or the soothing Classic Cold Brew. Each variant delivered its own unique set of flavors tied together by the deep and bold notes of premium coffee opening the palate for a tasty feast by Executive Chef Rej Casanova and Executive Sous Chef Daryl Sy


Can't decide what to order? No worries. Executive Chef Rej Casanova is way ahead of the game with his Signature Sampler (P 610 net) with 2 pieces each of the Pork Sisig DonutCantabria Chili Crab Croquettes and the Plant-Based Mushroom Souvlaki with Homemade Flat BreadPickled Onion and Plant-Based Garlic Sauce. The culinary team then prepared my order...


...as Executive Chef Rej Casanova applied the finishing touches. The rich and diverse flavors of The Westin Manila are masterfully executed and served fresh and hot at its flavorful peak.


My Signature Sampler presents the infinite flavorful possibilities at The Westin Manila starting with the Pork Sisig Donuts. The soft donuts with pork ragout, calamansi gel, chicharon, onion and sour cream brings a delectable play on sweet and savory notes tempered by the subtle sharpness of the calamansi gel and red onion smoothened by the sour cream for a finely balanced finish. 

The Cantabria Chili Crab Croquettes with lime mayonnaise is a lavish bite-sized treat with rich yet delicately nuanced flavors and contrasting textures. The briny sweetness of the succulent crab comes through in the elegant style of Cantabria by Chele Gonzalez (more on Cantabria by Chele Gonzalez on my post, A Taste of Northern Spain High Up Over Ortigas at Cantabria by Chele Gonzalez in The Westin Manila from early this year). But it's the Plant-Based Mushroom Souvlaki that was the afternoon's biggest surprise for me...


The rich, earthy and nutty notes along with the meaty texture of the mushrooms with just a whisper of smoky hints bring an unexpected savory punch with its bold flavors. The pickled onion adds a layer of sharpness for that contrasting finish while the plant-based garlic sauce ties everything together in a creamy and silky smooth finale. The homemade flat bread completes the tasty number. This one's a winner on my list. 


One pitstop at The Westin Manila by the #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan and already the Signature Bites by Executive Chef Rej Casanova have made an impression. And that's just one pitstop on the nationwide route of the #MarriottBonvoyOnWheelsCaravan with still so many flavors to experience and discover along the way. The era of experiential travel and culinary exploration has arrived.
