Bringing Back the Good Times at Casa Marcos

Casa Marcos was always a part of of so many childhood memories, so many milestones and countless breakfasts and meals. I remember the many times my grandfather would bring bags of hot pan de sal, and the times my parents would bring me there for the garlicky gambas and almejas. Things were a lot simpler then, good times. Casa Marcos first opened in the late 1940s by a Spanish expat named Marcos de Guisasola along Roxas Boulevard. A regular patron then acquired ownership, and a second branch was established in Gilmore Avenue in the mid-eighties. Then in 2000, Casa Marcos ended its operations. Last year, the same family re-opened Casa Marcos, bringing back the familiar flavors to a new generation. Good times.


Located at the Bonifacio Global City, Casa Marcos returns with a more contemporary look, yet subtle hints of the familiar remain. Casa Marcos has both interior and outdoor dining areas.

The wood fired brick oven, where the magic happens. Fresh pan de sal and dinner rolls are baked every day.


The Almejas (P 230), baked clams with cheese and lots of garlic, just like the way I remember it.


The Gambas (P 275), with lots of garlic...simply awesome.

The Paella Valenciana (P 645, good for 4-5 persons), with chorizo, seafood and chicken. Hearty and comforting, a must try to complete the Casa Marcos experience.


A sangria to go with the tapas...nice.


The Tenderloin (P 495) prepared the traditional Casa Marcos ala Pobre style, with olive oil and lots of garlic.


The Pan de Plato with Adobo and kesong puti, and some sweet potato fries, a meal in itself.


Homemade corned beef with egg and sweet potato fries. Tender beef brisket, great with a cold beer.

Something new, yet familiar. Here's wishing Casa Marcos another fifty years and more. The good times are back.

  3. Their paella is a classic favorite of mine! Really good!
    Beso Vinoteka in BGC Central is also a good place to devour on paella. Really good too!

  4. Their paella is a classic favorite of mine. If you're lucky and a bit early since it's alway's sold out, try to buy Casa Marcos pandesal...it's not your regular pandesal...it's heavy and soft, very good with your Majestic Ham and Queso de Bola.
    If you're at BGC Central and craving for paella, head to Beso Vinoteka and try their All Meat Paella or Paella Negra...really good too.
