Fresh from the Kitchen: Main Street Unveils New Dishes...

Four new pizzas, a refreshing salmon dish, a comforting pasta dish, and two savory sandwiches await diners at Kapitolyo's Main Street. Chef Adam Tan's been busy in the kitchen, and that always means good things for Main Street's loyal diners...

At a recent preview, Chef Adam Tan shared Main Street's new dishes to be integrated in their menu starting the first week of February. From pizzas to pasta, sandwiches and a new main course, all roads lead to Main Street in Kapitolyo...

Main Street is known for their range of comforting dishes with a distinct VanCity vibe, and the new dishes reinforce this theme offering loyal diners even more flavor experiences (for more on Chef Adam Tan and his signature dishes at Main Street, check out my previous post, All Roads Lead to Main Street in Kapitolyo). Having perfected his thin and crisp, homestyle pizza crust, Chef Adam Tan lays on the flavors with four new pizzas...

...starting with The Italian (P 290), a thin and rustic crust topped with tomato basil sauce, mozzarella cheese, sliced onions, crumbled Italian sausage, and fresh dill. The richness of the Italian sausage provides the flavorful base, layered by the tart tomato basil sauce, the cream mozzarella and the bite of sliced onions and fresh dill for balanced flavors.

Chef Adam Tan then combines sweet and salty notes in another new pizza creation, the Bacon and Rosemary (P 280), with olive oil, rosemary, mozzarella, white cheese, chopped applewood smoked bacon, and honey garlic drizzle. The bold notes of the applewood smoked bacon pairs perfectly with the nutty and sweet honey garlic, rounded out by the mozzarella and white cheeses, rosemary, and olive oil. The unique layers of flavors don't overpower the other, each blending seamlessly in a delicate balance.

The Seafood Lovers (P 350) adds the day's freshest catch to your pizza, loaded with prawns, mussels, and fish fillet topped with fresh basil, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella on a tart tomato-basil sauce. The fresh, briny sweetness of the plump prawns, mussels and fish fillet are kicked up by the fresh basil, Parmesan and mozzarella to complete the flavors of the new pizza. if you love seafood on pizza, this is it.

And here's the beef. Chef Adam Tan caps his line of new pizzas with the beefy Steak and Gorgonzola (P 350), with sliced Kitayama Flank Steak, arugula, olive oil, mozzarella and gorgonzola drizzled with balsamic reduction. The thick slices of tender Kitayama flank steak, with its juicy pink center, add a savory richness to the pizza unlike any other pizza. The mildly sharp notes of the arugula and balsamic reduction temper the richness of the premium steak for balanced flavors, rounded out by the creamy mozzarella and gorgonzola for another winning pizza at Main Street.

And it's hard to choose just one favorite among the new pizzas at Main Street. But Chef Adam Tan definitely has the pizza for your beefy steak, Italian sausage, bacon or seafood cravings with four new pizzas.

A duo of sandwiches were then served, starting with The Paseo (P 270), a comforting pulled pork sandwich loaded with tender and smoky pork on homemade baguette, garlic mayo, romaine lettuce, caramelized onions, and roasted green peppers. The homemade baguette, the smoky and juicy puled pork, the creamy garlic mayo, the sweet caramelized onions, the crisp lettuce and roasted green peppers come together in a satisfying savory sandwich. This one's a potential best-seller...

Chef Adam Tan adds his own spin to the classic crispy chicken fillet with The Spicy Chicken Sandwich (P 260), with crisp buttermilk fried chicken fillet draped in rich buffalo sauce and drizzled with ranch sauce, topped with shredded cabbage and pickles,  and served with a side of fries. Crisp and crunchy chicken with ranch sauce and just a whisper of heat, what's not to love?

But there's more. The Miso-Glazed Salmon (P 390), with tender and delicately pan-seared salmon filet glazed in a miso-mustard sauce served with sauteed vegetables on a bed of shallot chive fried rice is a meal in itself. The delicate notes of the fresh salmon are kicked up by the sharp yet sweet miso-mustard glaze for rich flavors. Light yet flavorful, it's another tasty option at Main Street. And the shallot chive fried rice completes the dish.

A new pasta completes the line-up of new dishes at Main Street with the Italian Sausage Penne (P 290), a hearty pasta dish with sliced Italian sausage and tomato basil cream sauce. Like they say, any day is made so much better with a bowl of pasta, and this is one of them. Rich and tart with bold, vibrant notes, each bite releases a burst of flavors capped by the richness of the Italian sausage.

Main Street's signature Apple Crumble, with sliced apples roasted in butter, honey, and cinnamon, and baked with a crumble crust topped with crushed Graham crackers and vanilla ice cream, caps  our tasty preview.
