Poke Bowl Days at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati

It's back. And just in time too for Lent...

For the whole month of March, Holiday Inn & Suites Makati brings back their healthy and refreshing Poke Bowls at Citron Cafe, perfect for the Lenten season. And for just P 365 net per bowl, it's a satisfying meal loaded with fresh flavors and excellent value for more bang for the buck. The Poke Bowl Days are back...

With three tasty options to choose from, Citron Cafe recreates the Hawaiian classic loaded with fresh tuna or salmon on rice and served with a variety of vegetables for a guilt-free and satisfying meal. Start your meal with a hearty Zuppa di Funghi (P 205) with the earthy and nutty notes of wild mushrooms in rich paprika cappuccino cream...

Then, it's time for your very own Poke Bowl (P 365 net). The Salmon Poke Bowl with Sriracha Mayo is a tasty combo combining the creamy richness of salmon with the soothing heat of Sriracha Mayo, a full meal in itself any time of day. Topped with nori, sesame seeds, red cabbage, carrots, seaweed, edamame, cucumbers, avocado and sweet mangoes on rice, it's a healthy bowl that's big on flavor.

The contrasting textures and flavors pair so well together, perfectly finished by that extra helping of spicy Sriracha Mayo. Each component of the dish adds its own distinct layer of flavor, releasing fresh and vibrant notes. Healthy never tasted this good.

The Tuna Poke Bowl with Korean Sweet Chili brings the sweet and tangy flavors of Korean spices to the mix in another hearty poke bowl. The briny sweetness of the fresh tuna is complemented by the Korean sweet chili sauce, capped by the flavors and textures of the various vegetables and fruits for another winning poke bowl.

More spicy heat? The Tuna Poke Bowl with Kimchi Sauce has it all, with fresh tuna and vegetables draped with that sharp, tangy and spicy kimchi sauce. Holiday Inn & Suites Makati recreates the Hawaiian classic infusing it with bold flavors with its three sauces. Just choose your sauce, pick salmon or tuna, and you have a healthy and tasty poke bowl. Seafood Fridays, or any day for the whole month of March.

Other tasty options at Citron Cafe include the Pork Rillette (P 325), a traditional and rustic chunky pate made with pork slow-cooked in its own lard for a savory richness paired with gherkins, pickled onions and crisp slices of fresh-baked French baguette (you can also opt for the equally tasty Salmon Rillette, more on my previous post at Wine, Cheese, A Sunset and More at Oz Bar).

Once you start, you just can't stop. The Andale Chips & Mexican Dips (P 325) with crisp oven-baked tortilla chips topped with pico de gallo and cheese and served with fresh chili salsa, guacamole, and sour cream is always a sure bet at Citron. And you just can't stop.

The Classic Caesar Salad (P 275) with crisp garden-fresh Romaine lettuce topped with croutons, bacon and aged Parmesan is always a good start to any meal at Citron, great when paired with the refreshing El Panino Salmone (P 375), a fresh tortilla filled with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and vegetables.

Craving for even more seafood? The Fillet of Lapu-Lapu in Lemon and Herb Crust (P 595) served with creamy white wine sauce and grilled vegetables should do the trick. Or go Italian with The Muffuletta (P 375), a hefty sandwich with layers of salami, black forest ham, mortadella, mozzarella and cheddar with peppers on ciabatta bread.

And here's the beef. Not to be missed is Citron's signature Kebabs (P 495), tender beef and vegetable skewers marinated in olive oil, fresh herbs and ground pepper served with a cheesy potato. Fork-tender and juicy, the beef is perfectly grilled delivering bold, beefy notes.

When you're ready for that sweet ending, Citron Cafe's got that covered too with their extensive selection of desserts from Panna Cotta with toppings like caramel walnuts, chocolate, chocolate caramel and honey; Cannoli, Tiramisu, Ricotta Cheesecake, Banana Split, fresh fruit platters and more.

No meal at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati is complete without their best-selling dessert, the signature Ube Cheesecake. The unique twist on the indulgent cheesecake infused with purple yam just, well, takes the cake. Topped with intricate white chocolate shards, it's the perfect ending to your dining experience at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati.

Cap your meal at Citron Cafe with a soothing Iced Cafe Latte (P 120). A satisfying and healthy meal, the return of Poke Bowls to Citron Cafe is just one more tasty reason to visit Holiday Inn & Suites Makati. But better hurry. The Poke Bowls are only available until the end of March...
