From popular street food to traditional homestyle favorites, savor the authentic flavors of Taiwan at Fat Fook Kitchen...

Fat Fook Kitchen formally opens its third branch today at SM Megamall offering shoppers and diners a unique flavor experience. A homegrown concept, Fat Fook Kitchen brings the diverse flavors of Taiwan to the metro, and you can experience it yourself at their newest branch in SM Megamall. Authenticity and real value with generous servings at affordable prices combine for some seriously good deals for that game-winning play at Fat Fook Kitchen.

With Taiwan-born and raised Rachel Kao as Executive Chef of Fat Fook Kitchen,  diners can experience and savor authentic Taiwanese flavors prepared the traditional way (for more on Fat Fook Kitchen, see my earlier post, Comforting Taiwanese Flavors at Fat Fook Kitchen from two years back).

Executive Chef Rachel Kao recreates the wide variety of Taiwanese flavors at Fat Fook Kitchen, including popular street food fare like the Taiwanese Sausage (P 288) with its sweet and savory notes punctuated by bold hints of garlic...

...to the crunchy Fried Intestines (P 198), deep-fried to a delectable crispness. Served with a salt and pepper dip, once you start, you just can't stop.

Other tasty and traditional starters include the Spicy Century Egg (P 148) and the popular Fried Stinky Tofu (P 198). And it just doesn't get more authentic than that, with its bold and pungent aroma adding to the experience. You have to at least try it once, and you'll be rewarded with deep and sharp nutty notes.

Pair your meal with Fat Fook Kitchen's signature Milk Tea in a variety of flavors, like the Roasted Hazelnut with Egg Custard.

The Spicy Beef Set (P 348) is a traditional Taiwanese braised soup with tender savory beef and a layer of soothing heat from the fresh chili. Each set comes with a handy guide on how to best enjoy the dish, in three easy steps: First, enjoy the broth of the noodle soup. Second, add around 2-3 spoonfuls of the braised beef gravy to the noodle soup, and adjust accordingly to your desired flavor. Lastly, add some noodles in a bowl and mix with more braised beef gravy. Add some pickled vegetables and mix. And enjoy.

The savory richness of the fork-tender beef lines your palate with bold flavors, perfect when paired with the noodles and the steamed white rice. It's a complete meal in itself.

Fat Fook Kitchen also offers the famous soup dumplings, including their Giant Xiao Long Bao enjoyed with a straw. But it's the Salted Egg Xiao Long Bao (P 178 - 5 pcs/P 258 - 8 pcs) that gets you from the very first sip and bite with its comforting and familiar flavors. You just can't go wrong with salted egg, and this one's another personal favorite.

There's nothing more comforting than a bowl of noodles, and Fat Fook Kitchen's Taiwan Beef Noodles (P 258) is always a good choice any time of day. A meal or a filling snack, these noodles pack a flavorful and savory kick that's intensified even more with the sharp notes of the pickled vegetables for balanced flavors.

The delicate notes of fresh seafood comes through with Fat Fook Kitchen's Steamed King Fish (P 418) adding a celebratory vibe to your dining experience. The subtle sweetness of the fish is tempered by the bold notes of the light soy for contrasting flavors.

The wide variety of authentic Taiwanese dishes Fat Fook Kitchen offers tasty options to suit any craving, from Tofu with Century Egg and Pork Floss (P 198) to the savory and melt-in-your-mouth Beef Tendon Hot Pot (P 298), take your pick.

The Taiwan Style Fried Rice (P 258) is already a meal on its own with soft and fluffy rice topped with an assortment of ingredients, and great when paired with Fat Fook Kitchen's main dishes.

And if you still can't have enough of noodles, the Taiwan Style Fried Noodles (P 258) should do the trick. Great for sharing, the Taiwan Style Fried Noodles is a welcome addition to any feast at Fat Fook Kitchen.

Looking for some serious pork love? The Mama O's Pata Tim (P 348) is highly recommended. Slow-cooked for hours, the pork just slowly melts in your mouth laying rich flavors that linger long after the last bite.

The rich and thick sauce with the fork-tender pork pair well with the steamed buns served with the dish. It's one of those familiar dishes that just reminds you of carefree childhood summers in your grandmother's place, and you'll find it here too at Fat Fook Kitchen.

And here's a special treat, just for today with a special opening day promo. Avail of the P3.00 Chicken Chop as Fat Fook Takes Over Megamall on April 26, 2018 at Fat Fook Kitchen's SM Megamall branch. P 3.00 for Fat Fook Kitchen's Chicken Chop? You read that right. But better hurry, it's available for the first 100 customers only.

Cap your feast of Taiwanese flavors with a bowl of homemade Taho (P 58 Solo/P 298 Sharing) for that perfect ending. Variety and authenticity paired with value and generous servings, that's a real deal that's hard to pass up. And you'll find it here at Fat Fook Kitchen, now open at SM Megamall...
