Scott's: New Flavors and Probably The Best Laksa in Town at Ascott Bonifacio Global City

Exciting global cuisine made with the freshest, local ingredients, Ascott Bonifacio Global City unveils its newest culinary concept...

Ascott Bonifacio Global City recently launched its casual all-day dining restaurant, Scott's, the newest dining destination at The Fort. And here's a secret. It's home to probably the best Laksa in town...

Located at the Second Floor of Ascott Bonifacio Global City, Scott's showcases international cuisine prepared by a talented culinary team. Scott's takes casual dining to an elegant and spacious contemporary setting with private rooms for exclusive functions, celebrations and intimate gatherings. The name of the new restaurant is inspired by Asia-Pacific's first international serviced residence opened by Scott's Holdings of Singapore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CapitaLand Limited and a pioneer in international-class serviced residences. It's just one of many prestigious names under The Ascott Limited's expanding portfolio of international properties in 170 cities across thirty countries including Ascott, Citadines, Citadines Connect, Somerset, Quest, The Crest Collection, lyf, Preference, Vertu, Harris, Fox, Yello, and POP!.

At the helm of Scott's is Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez who brings with him a wealth of international experiences and his own culinary philosophy built around various influences from his stints in different countries and cultures. At the very heart of Scott's cuisine is Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez's culinary style, emphasizing both freshness and authenticity. "Globally influenced yet locally created, a process that highlights quality and flavor. Our new menu reflects my love and respect for food. We want to welcome guests as if they are at their home with the food they love and deserve," said Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez.

If his name sounds familiar, that's probably because this isn't the first time I featured Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez. A native of Mexico, I first met Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez up north five years ago (more on my previous posts at Flavors of Pampanga: A Culinary Journey of Flavors at Salt Resto and Widus Hotel & Casino: Discover The Newest Culinary Hub at Clark Freeport Zone on my other travel blog) and I knew then, he possessed that uncompromising passion for hearty flavors and inventive cuisine. That's what you can expect at Scott's. And a few other tasty surprises too.

Before the launch, the staff made the final finishing touches at Scott's...

...with lavish table settings of fresh fruits and vegetables. And Scott's pulled all the stops with gourmet cheeses and imported charcuterie at the Cheese Station as well as on the tables. You just know the staff at Scott's are serious when they lay out an impressive spread of cheeses...

...each delicately arranged on stone slates and wooden boards all across the long table.

If the lavish table arrangements of fresh and dried fruits, nuts, gourmet cheeses and charcuterie were any indication, Ascott BGC was going all-out for the launch of Scott's. Not only will guests at Ascott BGC find comforting flavors to satisfy their appetites, foodies now have yet another dining destination at BGC.

As the tables were set, guests were led up to the fifth floor of Ascott BGC for cocktails. Performers added a festive vibe to the launch...

...as top management from The Ascott Limited raised a toast to the property's newest culinary offering. It's all part of The Ascott Limited's continuing commitment to satisfying customers and guests across their worldwide properties. That evening, wine flowed with endless rounds and never-empty glasses to celebrate the new restaurant.

Dining is an integral part of a memorable stay at Ascott. For Ascott BGC General Manager, Sue Ponnudurai, Scott's adds that flavorful layer to complete your Ascott experience. "We want to go beyond our customer service, so they can experience new flavors with us," explained Sue Ponnudurai. Refreshing and exciting new flavors and traditional, comforting favorites, you don't have to go far for a sumptuous meal when staying at Ascott Bonifacio Global City. Just head down to the second floor at Scott's.

Guests at the exclusive media launch sampled Spanish-style tapas along with their cocktails for a tasty preview of Scott's diverse culinary offerings. The intricate bite-sized morsels are, like they say, just a taste of even more good things to come. The fifth floor also features the property's spacious ballroom...

...revealing potential as a venue for special events and functions.

That day, Habitat displayed their furniture line at the spacious fifth floor (L) as the ballroom was decked out to simulate an actual setting for a formal dinner or celebration (R). There's a lot happening at Ascott BGC, adding to your list of venue options for any special event. And when it comes to food, Scott's has that covered.

Formally seated at the long table, tasty bites with cheese and charcuterie kicked off my dining experience at Scott's.

Spread across different stations, the culinary team prepared a sumptuous feast with Seafood Kinilaw...

...and baked Oyster Rockefeller. The menu at Scott's reflects a wide and varied selection of both local and global dishes, including Filipino favorites like Lechon Kawali and tender Beef Short Ribs Kare-Kare as well as international fare like Keto Taco Salad, fresh Salmon Poke Bowls, Cast Iron Flank Steaks and Ice Kecang.

For the savory mains, Scott's rolled out an impressive selection from seafood to pork, chicken and beef dishes. Each dish features the creative stamp of Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez and his extensive exposure to global cuisine and cultures.

One more round? Absolutely.

One of the featured main dishes that night was the juicy Roast Pork Belly glazed with sugar for that sweet and savory combo. Each slice, capped with a lightly crisp layer of crackling, brings a nostalgic taste of home. And that's what Scott's offers, a comforting taste of home away from home.

Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez shares his own taste of home with Mexican Street-Style Tacos with beef or pork topped with fresh vegetables and a choice of salsa verde or red chili sauce. That uncompromising passion for authenticity is evident in the sumptuous spread, and Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez simply won't have it any other way...

...like their signature Prawn Laksa. An old friend whispered "that Laksa is good." And when Mickey Fenix of Inquirer Lifestyle, one of the metro's top columnists says it's good, believe it. It really is good. The rich vibrantly colored broth delivered fresh, bold and deep notes followed by a very subtle and soothing heat. The richness of the coconut cream is perfectly tempered by the spice blend and the briny sweetness of the plump and succulent prawns. I had three bowls that evening. Yes, it's that good. Another must-try? The Hainanese Chicken served with sticky rice balls also seemed popular that evening.

At the far end of the sumptuous spread is the indulgent dessert station with its tempting selection of festive cakes, intricate pastries, colorful macarons, cream puffs and fresh fruits. From starters to mains and desserts, Scott's is looking good.

Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez is ready to serve a taste of home with Scott's wide selection of local and international favorites. And they can't wait to serve you at Scott's, now open at Ascott Bonifacio Global City.
