The week's done, chores complete, everything's ok. Nothing like a leisurely weekend afternoon. And to make it even better, have some Churros con Chocolate to complete the weekend. And there's one place to enjoy the best, the one that started it all forty-eight years ago. At Dulcinea, they still continue to make Churros the same way since 1963.

Deep fried in corn oil and formed into a loop with the distinctive ridges piped from a star-shaped churrera, these crisp, golden delicacies are best served with the traditional rich, creamy, thick and dark Spanish Chocolate. Dunking churros in chocolate is part of the fun and experience. The rich chocolate perfectly combines with the light, deep-fried churros, delivering a taste that immediately transports you back to younger days. For P 98 bucks (less than $2), you can indulge yourself with a traditional Spanish treat. Being deep-fried though, I will have to take it a little easy...and make sure I take my meds...

Today, there are many varieties of Churros sold in carts within malls, which include cinnamon sprinkled versions shaped like thin breadsticks. But none make the cut. This is the Dude's pick for traditional churros...as I patiently wait for the next weekend.

Trying really hard not to drool right now--I go completely crazy for Churros. They're hard to find where I live, but whenever I DO find a place… nothing stands in the way.

ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm, this looks amazing. I can almost smell the churros! I've only had churros with cinnamon sugar. Dipping them in chocolate seems like a much better idea, since I love chocolate. I have a big jar of Nutella, will that work? :)
