Quick Bites: Afternoon Tapas at Casa Armas

Sometimes you just need to slow down. The world won't stop if you suddenly shift to a lower gear, and sometimes it's all you need to face another challenging day ahead. And some tapas wouldn't hurt too...

Casa Armas first opened in 1995, situated in the narrow alleys of Malate. Word then quickly spread about the authentic Spanish dishes of Casa Armas, including the near legendary Cochinillo. Now with three locations, Casa Armas continues to serve authentic Spanish cuisine to a new generation. And the vibe, and the food, remains exactly as I remember it. Chorizo Frito (P 285), Spanish chorizo fried in olive oil. Rich, concentrated flavors, simple yet comforting. Great with a cold beer.

Alcachofas con Jamon (P 280), artichokes and premium ham in olive oil. The mild flavors of fresh, tender artichokes play well with the sharp and distinct salty notes of the ham balanced by the nutty olive oil.

And since you already have a table, why not go for a paella to complete your dining experience. Paella Valenciana (P 865 Whole, P 555 Half), with pork, chicken, seafood and vegetables.

Sometimes taking it slow is all you need. Then and now, there's no better place to take things slow than Casa Armas.

Casa Armas Tapas Bar y Restaurante is located at the Ground Floor, The Podium, 18 ADB Avenue, Wack Wack, Mandaluyong or call 687-3370 for inquiries.
