Flavors of Davao: Brunch with a View at Punong's

With its idyllic fishponds and mangroves, there's nothing quite like brunch with a view like this...

An all-seafood brunch at Punong's adds that local flavor to your visit to Davao, just what you need to experience the rustic charm of the King City of the South. Situated right beside the National Highway along Barangay Bingcungan in Tagum City, the views just transport you to a far-away place even when you're in the middle of a bustling city...

Punong's is a popular attraction among locals and visitors alike offering a wide variety of local dishes including the day's freshest catch. Built on stilts, the floating restaurant has a tropical feel that adds to your dining experience. Take a walk around the maze of walkways on stilts while waiting for your order...

...and pick a spot for that mandatory selfie for your IG or FB post. It was our second day of chasing wonders in the Crown Jewel of Mindanao down south with AirAsia for the launch of the new In-Flight Catalog and Santan In-Flight Hot Meal created by Chef JP Anglo with Malagos Chocolate (more on the AirAsia event on my earlier post, #AirAsiainDavao: Experience Davao's Sights and Flavors with AirAsia and on my other travel blog at #AirAsiainDavao: AirAsia Introduces Unique Malagos Chocolate-Infused Meal to Santan In-Flight Menu Selection), and Davao continues to amaze with its many attractions and local flavors.

Enjoy a wide selection of freshly caught fish grilled to perfection, simply ask the servers for the day's catch...

...along with Punong's other signature seafood dishes like crispy Calamari (P 280)...

...Sizzling Oysters with its fresh and briny notes...

...and the classic Gambas (P 250) with plump and succulent shrimps.

And there's more. Punong's Inihaw na Pusit (P 350) with fresh squid delicately grilled for that subtle smoky hint and clean, fresh flavors...

...and the Grilled Tuna Belly (P 95/100 g), fork-tender tuna with its mild sweet notes. It's an epic seafood feast with a view. The freshness of the seafood is apparent from the very first bite all the way to the last. They say the best way to know a city or province is to indulge in homegrown flavors made with the freshest local produce. And Punong's is a great way to get acquainted with Tagum City and Davao.

Let AirAsia take you there, with regular direct flights from Manila and Clark, and embark on your journey of chasing wonders in Davao.

Punong's is located along the National Highway in Barangay Bingcungan, Tagum City.
