Where's The Pie? Find It All Here at Citron...

As good as American Pie...

Apple Pie a la Mode, Banoffee Pie and Key Lime Pie, homespun indulgence of pure Americana awaits guests and diners at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati for a slice of the American dream. This July, Citron offers rustic and comforting All-American classics paired with a cup of coffee or tea for only P 250 net. Where's the pie? It's all here at Citron...

As American as apple pie. Pies, and apple pie in particular, have long been regarded as quintessential American symbols. Holiday Inn & Suites Makati celebrates the American holiday month of July offering three lavish versions of the classics. The iconic and enduring symbol of everything American just like baseball and hot dogs, the apple pie remains a source of national pride further evolving to represent both economic prosperity and traditional values.

Citron's Apple Pie recreates the all-American favorite with its hearty filling of apples draped in an intricate lattice-like weave of soft and crusty dough. Masterfully executed with the casual and homestyle warmth Holiday Inn & Suites is known for, it's a sweet taste of America (for more on Holiday Inn & Suites, see my earlier posts, The Poke Bowls Are Back At Holiday Inn & Suites' Flavors Restaurant on the seasonal run of their popular meatless Fridays offerings, Pancakes, Waffles and Rustic Mornings at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati's Flavors Restaurant on their collaboration with Rustic Mornings and All-American: The American Food Festival and Burger Bar at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati's Flavors Restaurant).

Each bite brings nostalgic and homey flavors, from the sweetness of the apples with just a hint of cinnamon and the soft dough. I've always enjoyed the simple yet rich and decadent notes of the all-American favorite, and you don't need to complicate a true classic. But when you top it with a scoop of velvety smooth vanilla ice cream, the apple pie is transformed to an elevated and indulgent experience. From the sweet apples to the homestyle dough, Citron nails it with their take on the American Apple Pie.

Each slice comes with a cup of coffee or tea, the perfect pair for a late afternoon snack at Citron.

The Banoffee Pie has become another American favorite, though its origins can be traced to a restaurant in the English county of East Sussex. But over time, the Banoffee Pie took on the stars and stripes and now a part of the American culinary mainstream. It was even selected to be served at the historic meeting of President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but sadly, the meeting was cut short. Who knows what would've happened if the tempting notes of Banoffee Pie were served, sweetening the way for smoother diplomatic relations.

Citron weaves sinful layers of toffee, bananas and indulgent cream on a rustic crust topped with soft yet crisp pastry crumbs for both flavor and texture, perfect with the robust notes of freshly brewed coffee.

Rounding out the trifecta of all-American pie goodness is Citron's Key Lime Pie with sweet and tart key limes from the scenic Florida Keys. The unique chemical reaction between the proteins of egg yolks and condensed milk with the acidic lime juice thickens the pie, giving it a satin-like custard texture. But it's the sharp hints of lime that makes this pie stand out, tempering the sweetness for balanced notes. The pie has become part of America's culinary heritage, and an annual Key Lime Pie Festival is held every July 4 in Florida's Key West. But you can have a taste of it here at Citron. Where's the pie? It's all here at Citron...
