Flavors of Swissotel Clark: A World of Asian Flavors at Spice Street Eats

The vibrant energy and fast-paced rhythm of the busy streets of Asia are recreated with the equally bold and distinct flavors of Asian street food at Swissotel Clark, adding yet another layer to your memorable experience at the newest dining and entertainment destination in the emerging Clark Freeport Zone...

The fourth in a series of blog posts on the luxurious hotel property up north, here's one more to add to your must-try list. Swissotel Clark draws inspiration from the diverse flavors of Asian street food at Spice Street Eats with its wide array of delectable offerings from dim sum, stir-fried noodles, rice toppings, broth-based noodles and even Peking Duck plus local and Asian beer. With ten dining outlets at Swissotel Clark offering a variety of cuisines including authentic Italian, Korean, Filipino, all-day dining and a dessert bar, you'll never run out of choices and options during your stay at Clark Freeport Zone's newest and most prestigious hotel property.

The evening transforms the impressive facade of Swissotel Clark, currently the tallest structure in Clark Freeport Zone. It also signals a whole new set of dining possibilities. After the exclusive preview at Ristorante di Verona, Swissotel Clark's tenth dining outlet (see more on my post, Flavors of Swissotel Clark: Infusing Fun to Italian Fine Dining at Ristorante de Verona, the Tenth and Latest Dining Outlet in Swissotel Clark), lunch and a hearty breakfast at MARKT and Oma's Dessert Bar (more on my post at Flavors of Swissotel Clark: Market Day at MARKT), a round of G&Ts at The Atrium (see my post here at Flavors of Swissotel Clark: Meet Me at The Atrium for Refreshing G&Ts) and ice cold craft beers at Swiss Tropic Pool Bar (check out my post at Flavors of Swissotel Clark: Chillin' at Swiss Tropic Pool Bar), it was time to experience diverse Asian flavors with a cool street vibe at Spice Street Eats

Located inside Hann Casino (note that government mandated minimum age requirements will apply), the excitement from the gaming tables shifts to the frenetic pace of the open kitchens at Spice Street Eats. Woks on fire, the fragrant aroma of spices and the constant parade of bowls and plates fresh off the kitchen and served to the tables become a continuous loop that never seems to end at Spice Street Eats. It's this vibe that takes you to the streets and narrow alley ways of Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi and even old Manila for a unique sensory experience.

The menu at Spice Street Eats brings all the familiar, comforting and even nostalgic flavors of Asia prepared in the massive open kitchen. Exciting yet laid-back and casual, the eclectic vibe at Spice Street Eats is an experience in itself.

Start your dining experience with a refreshing beverage like the traditional Sago't Gulaman that's perfect with the richly spiced and savory dishes at Spice Street Eats. Other options include the specialty Spice Iced Tea (P 120) in three variants inspired by the rich history of the province like Angeles C-Tea with Jasmine Green Tea, calamansi, mint and lemongrass; Mabalacat C-Tea with Breakfast Tea, Bignay juice and orange; and San Fernando C-Tea with Breakfast Tea, calamansi and guava-infused syrup. You can also try the signature Spice drink, Amihan (P 150) with its blend of calamansi, lychee, cucumber, lemon soda, mint leaves and sugar syrup. If you prefer Bubble Tea, Spice Street Eats has you covered with their Malay Milk Tea, Ube Halaya Milk Tea and Fe Milk Tea. Beer? Choose from Crazy Carabao Craft Beer, San Miguel Cerveza Negra, Asahi, Kirin, Tiger, Singha and Tsing Tao

Start with their specialty dim sum like the timeless and enduring Siu Mai (P 180/4 pcs) or steamed pork and shrimp dumplings...

...the crisp Fried Shrimp Balls (P 216/3 pcs) for that delectable crunch...

...and Jiaozi (P 192/4 pcs) or steamed dumplings stuffed with savory minced pork and vegetables. It's easy to get carried away with the dim sum selections at Spice Street Eats with tempting choices like Har Gao (P 252), Char Siu Bao (P 152), Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce (P 132), Lo Mai Gai (P 144), Chicken Feet (P 132), Wonton (P 144), Spring Rolls (P 132), Shanghai Rolls (P 132) and Dynamite Lumpia (P 156).

Served with dipping sauces, the soft and juicy Jiaozi drapes the palate with a savory richness with each bite. It's the perfect side to a bowl of hearty noodles...

...like Laksa (P 420), the classic Singaporean coconut curry noodle soup with succulent shrimps, vegetables, tender chicken and tofu. The thick broth is loaded with punchy flavors followed by a subtle lingering heat.

The Vietnamese Pho (P 420) offers more delicate even nuanced notes with the rich savory flavors of beef pairing well with the herbal notes of coriander and subtle tartness of lime in a light yet flavorful broth. The thin slices of beef and meat balls add layers of savory goodness with the minty hints of coriander tempering the richness for balanced flavors.

The soft rice noodles completes the dish. There's just nothing like a bowl of noodles to make any day so much better, and Spice Street Eats serves up all the popular noodle staples from Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea and even the Philippines in one place. Other must-try dishes include the Spicy Beef Noodles (P 420), Shrimp Wonton Noodles (P 360), Korean Ramyeon (P 360), Chadol Doenjang Jjigae (P 480) and the local Batchoy (P 360).

Spice Street Eats also offers stir-fried noodles including Beef Chow Fun (P 420), Phad Thai Goong (P 540), Dan Dan Mien (P 360), Mee Goreng (P 360), Singaporean Noodles (P 360) and Jajangmyeon (P 420).

Rice toppings? You'll find it here at Spice Street Eats. The Beef Salpicao (P 540) with soy and chili marinated US Beef Tenderloin in garlic butter and spices on soft and fluffy steamed white rice is a meal in itself. Other equally satisfying options include the Dongaseu Mayo (P 420) or Japanese pork cutlet, Pad Krapow Gai (P 384), Gaeng Keow Wan Gai (P 456) or green curry chicken, Nasi Goreng (P 420), Picadillo (P 348), Jeyuk Deopbap (P 456) or spicy pork belly, Vietnamese Fried Rice (P 300), Coconut Shrimp Curry (P 540), Bulgogi Deopbap (P 540), Mapo Tofu and Eggplant (P 340), Hainanese Chicken (P 540) and Char Siu Rice (P 420).

Manila, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hanoi and Seoul all in one place at Spice Street Eats in Swissotel Clark. And that's just one of ten dining options at the newest dining and entertainment destination in Clark Freeport Zone.
