#BeercationAtBrotzeit: Raise a Toast Up High Down South at the Newest Location of Brotzeit in Alabang West Parade

Good times are happening down south. Time to raise up a toast...

Now with three locations in the metro including Edsa Shangri-La and BGC, the newest branch of Brotzeit in Alabang West Parade bring good times and barrels of fun down south. And just in time too as Brotzeit celebrates its longest Oktoberfest run yet all the way until the end of the month (for more on Oktoberfest at Brotzeit, see my previous post, The Whole Nine Yards: Brotzeit Philippines Celebrates Nine Long Years in the Country with the Longest Oktoberfest Season from last month). Now that's reason enough to raise a toast at Brotzeit up high all the way down south in Alabang West Parade...

Nine years and three branches later, no other bar or restaurant comes close to Brotzeit when it comes to authentic Bavarian beer and dishes. From last year's Oktoberfest celebration in a new normal (more on my post here at ECQ Eats: A Toast to Oktoberfest in the New Normal at Brotzeit from 2021) to my blog's very first post on Brotzeit back in 2013 (see my post at Prost! Good Times at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant), Brotzeit remains the undisputed standard for the German beer bar experience.

And that cool and vibrant vibe built around sumptuous German cuisine and authentic brews Brotzeit is known for now comes to spread good times down south at the new Alabang West Parade...

The sleek new branch features a modern glass-enclosed design giving it a clean and contemporary feel surrounded by wide-open spaces...

...including a breezy al-fresco area for even more seating options. The impression of free-flowing space is a key design element at Alabang West Parade, and this is elegantly enhanced at Brotzeit with its panoramic floor-to-ceiling glass walls. In a departure from their traditional dark wood and leather palette of their existing branches in Shangri-La Edsa and BGC, the refreshing light earth tones at Alabang West Parade is a refreshing design update while retaining its classic beer hall vibe.

While the new design theme gives Brotzeit a fresh new look at Alabang West Parade, the intrinsic DNA of the brand endures with the promise of good times associated with authentic German beer and hearty German fare. Nine years and counting, it's these little things that continue to define the Brotzeit experience. Germans call it "Gemütlichkeit," that unmistakable and distinctive warm and friendly feeling you get when the place just feels right. And now, you can experience it at Alabang West Parade.

Begin your soothing tipple at Brotzeit with the refreshing Iced Tea Coolers (P 180) like the Watermelon Spritzer, Passionfruit Refresher and Berry Punch...

...or why not get straight down to business with Brotzeit's signature brews like the Original Munchner Lager with its mild and elegant malty flavors with just a hint of sweetness followed by the boldness of hops for that sharp and crisp libation...

...or the dark Traditional Bayrische Dunkel with its full-bodied flavors and subtle sweet hints almost like caramel balanced by contrasting notes from the hops for a balanced, smooth and satisfying finish. The impressive selection of premium German beer including Paulaner and Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan, one of the oldest breweries in the world, offers diners the full range from the classic lager to wheat and dark beer to suit your mood or craving. That's authenticity straight from the tap.

Brotzeit, which literally translates to "bread time" is often associated with light yet hearty snacks in between main meals. Brotzeit takes this definition to a whole new and sumptuous meaning with its lavish menu of traditional German dishes. Before diving in, enjoy a few tasty nibbles with your ice-cold brew like the traditional Brezn (P 90-1 pc/P 300-4pcs) or pretzels in between soothing sips.

One more round of beer and it's time to explore the rest of the menu at Brotzeit. The uniquely German concept of "bread time" is showcased in a wide variety of tasty bites like the Belegtes Brot (P 480) or German open-faced sandwich with ham, cheese, egg, pickle spears and peppers for that perfect "bread time" snack.

Then, there's the German flatbread pizza selection or Fladen that pairs equally well with your ice-cold brew like the Fladen Mit Räucherachs (P 360) or Smoked Salmon Fladen. Buttery salmon drizzled with sour cream, mustard seeds and fresh rocket salad on a crisp flatbread crust? Yes, please.

The Fladen Bayrischer Art (P 360) or Bavarian Style Fladen with bacon, ham, red and green bell peppers, onions and mushrooms brings bold and savory notes to the palate. The sweetness of the peppers and onions weaves flavorful notes followed by the earthy richness of mushrooms and sharp smoky notes of the bacon and ham with each bite.

The Fladen Mit Schwarzwaldschinken (P 360) or Black Forest Fladen combines the fresh and clean notes of rocket salad with black forest ham, cheese shavings and a sharp balsamic glaze for punchy yet comforting savory flavors best washed down with an ice-cold brew.

Authentic German cuisine is a Brotzeit specialty differentiating and setting it apart from the many dining options in the metro (for more on Brotzeit's culinary offerings, see my earlier posts, Al Fresco at Brotzeit for a Tipple and Take-Out on their King Henry Pork Chop, Ripperl and many more from early last year and Three Must-Try Dishes at Brotzeit on their signature Schweinshaxn, Ripperl and Lamm Haxe from 2014).

No German feast is complete without the traditional Wiener Schnitzel Vom Kalb (P 900) or breaded veal cutlet with its contrasting juicy and crisp textures and rich savory flavors. You can also opt for the Riesen Schweinsschnitzel (P 520) if you prefer pork.

The Ripperl (P 1,350 Full Rack/P 720 Half Rack) or Honey Bavarian Ribs served with potato wedges is another dish worth adding to your feast at Brotzeit. Tender, juicy and fall-off-the-bone, the honey-infused glaze and subtle smoky hints from the grill reminds you why you love pork ribs with one bite.

Another round of beer calls for sausages, and Brotzeit offers the full range of savory links in a variety of tasty options like pork, chicken and veal, grilled or boiled. The Würstelplatte Zum Teilen (P 1,150) features Spicy Chicken Sausages, Nurnberger Sausages, Pork Cheese Sausages, Weisswurst and Garlic Pork Sausages served with Sauerkraut and pickles allows you to enjoy a bit of everything in one platter.

Beer and sausages, and you'll find some of the metro's very best at Brotzeit. And Brotzeit offers a whole lot more like Thüringer Rostbratwurst, Käsekrainer or pork with cheese sausages, Farmer's Sausage, Currywurst and Berner Würstel or sausage wrapped in bacon.

Bring the gang and family and enjoy a festive feast with an Oktoberfest feel with the signature specialties of Brotzeit like the popular all-time bestseller Schweinshaxn (P 1,350) or crisp and juicy oven roasted pork knuckles served with potato salad and sauerkraut. The Schweinshaxn is probably the most featured dish from Brotzeit on my blog, from my first post back in 2013 to short of twenty posts later through the years. And each bite is just as good as the first time so many years ago.

The Schweinshaxn is the perfect centerpiece for a lavish feast at Brotzeit. But if you feel like leveling it up, then Brotzeit has just the right platter you and the gang...

The Signature Brotzeit Platte (P 3,900) features a mouthwatering selection of Brotzeit's specialties including the Schweinshaxn or crispy pork knuckles, Ripperl or honey-glazed pork ribs, Berner Sausages wrapped in bacon and Brathuhn or oven-roasted whole chicken with a choice of four tasty sides. Come hungry. And thirsty. This one definitely calls for another round of beer.

Presented and served on a large wooden board, the Signature Brotzeit Platte is a showstopper. And you can choose the sides too. Brotzeit offers thirteen sides, and the Roast Potatoes, Spätzle, Potato Salad and Homemade Spinach Spätzle are just some of my personal picks.

The Berner Sausages wrapped in bacon and the Ripperl adds on even more pork love to pair with your beer...

...while the tender and juicy Brathuhn or oven-roasted chicken completes the feast with its rich yet delicate flavors.

Ice cold beer fresh from the tap, good food and great company, that's the Brotzeit experience. It's a feast that makes any celebration or occasion even more memorable.

And this one's got your name on it, waiting for you at Brotzeit.

Awesome beer, great food, bread time and "Gemütlichkeit." Few restaurants can bring all these elements together for that unique feeling like Brotzeit. Nine solid years and three branches, there's a whole lot to cheer about over some authentic brews and sumptuous dishes at Brotzeit.

And it's now here down south. If you live in the south, then lucky you. You don't have to go far to find "Gemütlichkeit." And good food. And great beer. If you come from further up north and want a change of scenery and a breath of fresh air, come on down to Brotzeit in Alabang West Gate. And you'll soon find out you're just where you're supposed to be. Prost!
