Variety and Value at Madison Commons Food Park

A sudden craving for kebabs, callos and tacos can be a real challenge, and the only way to satisfy it is to head on over to Madison Commons...

Madison Commons is one of the newest food parks this side of the metro, boasting of well over thirty food stalls offering a wide variety of flavorful options, from Korean, Japanese, Mexican, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Filipino, and everything in between including a selection of beverages and ice cream all in one place. Craving for kebabs, callos and tacos? No problem. A stop at Madison Commons should do the trick...

Located beside Ace Water Spa and right across PC Supermarket, Madison Commons offers a wide selection of tasty options with reasonable price points. And with ample free parking, that's one headache off the list on your food trip to Madison Commons. Madison Commons opens at 4:00pm (some stalls are open for lunch, while others start serving at 6:00pm) all the way to the wee hours of the morning.

It's one of those days when that sudden craving for kebabs, callos, and tacos hits you and you can nail it all with one strike at Madison Commons. At Persiana Casual Mediterranean Kebab & Shawarma, the grills are fired up as early as lunch time...

Start with a refreshing Avocado Yogurt Fruit Shake (P 100) as you wait for order from the grill. Other fruit flavors include Persiana's bestselling Mango Yogurt Fruit Shake, as well as Banana, Strawberry, and Melon. Persiana's Kebab Platter (P 275) is then served, fresh from the grill, with Beef Kebab, Dajaj or Grilled Chicken, Ox Brain, Hummus, Grilled Onion and Tomato and warm Pita bread on a wooden board.

With Persiana's hot sauce and garlic sauce on the side, it's time for a kebab feast. The grilled  chicken is tender and juicy, and the beef kebab is richly spiced pairing well with the grilled onion and tomato and a generous drizzle of hot sauce and garlic sauce. The creamy ox brain adds a savory richness to the platter, great with the grilled onion and hot sauce for even more flavor.

Pair your Kebab Platter with Persiana's Fresh Potato Chips (P 95) served in a paper-lined bucket. The uneven hand-cut chips give it a certain texture unlike the consistently shaped machine-cut variety. Simply spinkle some salt and pepper, and munch away. Great with ketchup, even the garlic sauce works.

Callos? Absolutely. With rice, please. Persiana's Sizzling Callos (P 225) is a meal in itself, served with steamed white rice. The sauce may not be as thick as the traditional callos, but the flavors are there. The fork-tender ox-tripe just melts in your mouth with its comforting richness tempered by the sharp notes of the chorizo.

Kebabs and callos, check. Time for some tacos. Beef Sirloin, Pork Carnitas, or Chicken? Why not have all three with Taqueria's tasty Taco Trio (P 215), a Mexican trifecta with tender stir-fried sirloin topped with alfalfa and special sauce, crispy pork carnitas topped with tomato salsa and cilantro, and juicy chicken with fresh cilantro and caramelized onions drizzled with lime sauce.

Each taco has its own unique flavor, but it's the fresh and clean notes that are consistent in all three tacos. The crisp greens, fresh tomatoes and onions complete the flavors. Squeeze some lime and pour a generous amount of hot sauce, and enjoy. Best enjoyed with an ice-cold bottle of cold beer. Craving for kebabs, callos and tacos? Now you know where to go...
