Paella Valenciana, Arroz Negre, Cordera Asado, Caldereta de Cornero, Cochinillo and Porchetta with round after round of refreshing Sangria, it's the Flavors of Spain at Market Cafe...

New World Manila Bay Hotel celebrates the festive Flavors of Spain at Market Cafe this July and August, 2017 with a wide selection of authentic Spanish dishes along with their regular international buffet offerings. The two-month long festival takes you on a flavorful journey of rich Spanish flavors, from starters to mains and desserts paired with a refreshing glass of Sangria and Spanish wines. Read on and take a flavorful peek at Market Cafe's Flavors of Spain...

Inside Market Cafe, a selection of premium Spanish products from Terry's Selection (L) kicks off your Spanish culinary journey. New World Manila Bay Hotel's General Manager, Mark Heywood (R) explained our shared history and affinity with Spain as the key concept driver behind Market Cafe's latest food festival.

That night, we sampled round after round of Sangria Lolea, handcrafted sangria made with the finest ingredients and bottled in Spain, available in red and white wine variants. Light and refreshing with the bright notes of fresh fruits in every sip, your Spanish culinary journey at market Cafe is off to a great start.

Some cheese? Absolutely. A selection of fine Spanish cheeses were also served along with another round of Sangria Lolea, including La Corrala, Idiazabal, Buenalba (L) and the unique Red Wine-Infused Manchego (R) paired with dried fruits. The sharp notes of the cheese with just a hint of red wine was definitely different and special.

A platter of Serrano Salami, Fuet Extra, and Spanish Chorizo completes the first round of starters. But there's more...

Green olives and pickled shallots wrapped in anchovies added even more festive flavors...

...and the stuffed peppers with Bacalao delivered fresh, clean and sunny Mediterranean notes. After yet another round of Sangria, it was time to check out the buffet spread at Market Cafe...

I start with tasty bites of Prosciutto, Basil, and Melon Skewers (L) followed by shots of refreshing Cucumber Gazpacho (R) topped with crisp prosciutto, nuts, and fresh herbs. The featured Spanish selection at the buffet are marked by Spanish flags to guide you.

At the central station, Market Cafe's skilled chef carves the impressive Jamon Seranno by hand, serving paper-thin slices to diners.

Simply pick up a plate and begin your Spanish culinary journey at Market Cafe.

For the savory mains, Market Cafe's Spanish selection that day featured the classic Arroz Negra, a traditional Spanish rice dish infused with squid-ink and topped with seafood and vegetables.

Other mains served that day included the hearty and rustic Estofado de Pollo, a rich Spanish style chicken stew with vegetables...

...and the Carne de Cerdo Braseada, a comforting homestyle braised pork dish in a rich tomato sauce simmered with olives.

Like my previous visits to Market Cafe (see my earlier posts, Back at Market CafeSurf's Up at Market Cafe and  Desserts at Market Cafe), I've always been impressed with the wide array of global flavors with just about everything and something for everyone for a memorable dining experience...

...like a thick slice of premium Grass-Fed Prime Rib from Market Cafe's Carving Station. Perfectly grilled to medium with a juicy pink center, this is serious beef. But there's more to discover at Market Cafe...

...like the Seafood Station with the day's freshest catch of plump shrimps, succulent mussels, clams, and crabs. Singaporean style with chili, baked with cheese or lightly grilled, it's your call. Pick up another plate and bring in your haul of fresh seafood from Market Cafe's Seafood Station.

For me, it's fresh shrimps, clams and mussels cooked in butter and garlic keeping the fresh and clean notes and the briny sweetness of the seafood intact layered with the richness of butter. Just perfect.

In between plates of global flavors, why not go for some fresh Salmon Sashimi and assorted Sushi from the Japanese Station?

There's pizza fresh from the oven and pasta prepared they way you like it at the Italian Station too. At the Asian Station, let the station chef prepare a seafood noodle soup for you, simply choose your noodles and toppings. Your bowl of seafood noodle soup is prepared fresh and ala minute, and it just takes a few minutes...

...and served steaming hot and fresh from the kitchen right to your table. Fresh vegetables, fish cakes, mushrooms, and shrimps on a bowl of hearty noodles, just can't get better than that.

Have your fill of Asian, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Italian, and Continental dishes at Market Cafe, from freshly made hand-rolled maki and sushi (L) to the savory Korean Dongpo Pork Belly (R). The linear layout of different stations at Market Cafe makes it easy to navigate adding to your convenience.

But save room for dessert. From indulgent cakes and pastries like the tempting Chocolate Tart topped with fresh strawberries...

...to Spanish delicacies like the Budin de Pan, a comforting Spanish bread pudding, the dessert selection at Market Cafe is equally impressive. You can even create your very own Halo-Halo at the Halo-Halo Station topped with homemade Ice Cream and Leche Flan.

Other traditional Spanish-style desserts served that day at the Dessert Station included the rustic Tortada de Ricotta (L), an indulgent ricotta cake topped with almonds and the brightly colored Coca de San Juan (R), a soft brioche with fruits.

Pair your Torrijas or Spanish Toast with a freshly brewed cup of coffee to cap your Spanish feast at Market Cafe.

Not to be missed is the velvety smooth and decadent Crema Catalan with fresh strawberries for classic Spanish flavors.
