Dining in the Next Normal: Resorts World Manila Launches Grand Fiesta Manila Holiday Offerings with 11 Thrills of Christmas

It's been a year of extreme challenges, with the lingering effects of the new normal transforming and changing our daily routine. But you can end the year on a high note and set the tone for the coming new year...

Resorts World Manila launches a two-month long property wide holiday season promotion starting November 11 dubbed Grand Fiesta Manila 2020 with its 11 Days of Christmas Thrills to mark 11 memorable years as the country's premier integrated tourist destination. Reflecting the sign of the times, the launch was announced in a virtual press conference held online last November 11 on YouTube. To make the online event even more special, Resorts World Manila sent a sumptuous feast featuring their latest culinary creation, BAD Burgers to the homes of media representatives invited to the virtual press con. The virtual press con unveiled some truly exciting offers and activities starting November 11 at Resorts World Manila, read on for an exclusive peek...

The long-lasting impact of the quarantine experience will be felt for many years to come forcing the hotel and food service sector to adapt and evolve with changing consumer habits due to the pandemic. Resorts World Manila faces the many challenges of the new normal head on with innovative programs to remain relevant with its customers. Even press cons and events will change in the new normal as Resorts World Manila shares its comprehensive marketing initiatives for the last quarter in a refreshing new way, going online and using technology to reconnect with its audience. RWM Chief Operating Officer Stephen Reilly (L) and RWM Director for Corporate Communications Joee Guilas (R) led the virtual press conference on YouTube...

...joined by RWM Chief Integrated Marketing Officer Martin Paz, Hilton Manila General Manager Simon McGrath, Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo, Sheraton Manila General Manager Anna Vergara and L.O.V.E. Project Artist Jon Joven. It's a virtual all-star cast from one of the country's top leisure, travel and dining destinations, live on your laptop or mobile device. The virtual press con detailed a whole list of integrated promotions all the way to December 31, from dining to shopping and staycations all within the massive resort complex.

In line with the property-wide holiday promotion, guests and shoppers are in for a treat at the resort's mall. The Newport Mall will be offering special holiday promotions for shoppers and diners on 11.11 and 12.12, a value-packed one-day only pre-holiday and Christmas sale with participating outlets just like in previous years. But this year, Newport Mall responds to the times as it reaches out to the medical frontliners. You can help by dining in participating outlets and with every P 1,000 spent, hearty meals will be prepared and delivered to the modern day heroes in the fight against the pandemic. Eat Out & Help Out for a cause at Newport Mall from October 30 to December 31, and dine-in to support, donate and spread some good vibes.

This year also marks the much-awaited completion and renovation of the Garden Wing to complement the newly opened Grand Wing at Resorts World Manila. With bigger and brighter spaces, guests can now enjoy refreshed gaming and mall areas with the mandatory health and sanitation protocols in place.

Christmas is the season of giving and Resorts World Manila will be giving back with the RWM Christmas Cheers and Thrills, a CSR initiative for its 11th anniversary along with its partner hotels Marriott Hotel Manila, Okura Manila, Hilton Manila, Sheraton Manila Hotel, Belmont Hotel Manila, Savoy Hotel Manila and Holiday Inn Express Manila. The initiative aims to distribute Noche Buena meal boxes to eleven beneficiaries in December.

Resorts World Manila also introduces their take on the classic burger with the impressive Bad Ass Delicious Burgers, or simply BAD Burgers created by their specialty outlets. It's a refreshing and inventive spin on burgers, just in time for the holidays. The selection features eight distinctive burger creations reflecting a global fusion of flavors. From the Ensaymada Burger by Casa Buenas and Wagyu Charcoal Bun Burger by Okura at Home to the Pretzel Angus Burger by Manila Marriott, Char Siu Chicken Pao Burger by Hilton Manila and Pajeon Galbi Burger by Sheraton Manila, it's a world of flavorful and savory goodness reinventing the popular staple. Western, Filipino, Chinese and Korean notes take centerstage with the creative burgers reflecting the distinct culinary styles of the different restaurants in Resorts World Manila.

That day during the virtual press con last November 11, a sampler of three specialty burgers from BAD Burgers were delivered along with refreshing beverages and fries. Dining at home and the food delivery culture have defined and reshaped our daily routine in the new normal, and Resorts World Manila makes the successful transition.

My burger feast from BAD Burgers included three unique specialty creations, the Donut Burger by Casa Buenas, the Ube Cheese-Sig Burger by S Kitchen and Oori and the Tapsilog Burger by Casa Buenas served with fries. With the introductory price of P 388 net and eight different variants to choose from, the BAD Burgers by Resorts World Manila make a worthy addition to your list favorites.

Filipino flavors shine with the Ube Cheese-Sig Burger by S Kitchen and Oori of Sheraton Manila. The soft and fluffy ube cheese specialty pastry of S Kitchen becomes the base of the creative burger, topped with the savory pork sisig patty and pickled red onion combining for a unique blend of flavors. The savory richness of the pork sisig is perfectly tempered by the sharpness of the pickled red onions, rounded out by the buttery and nutty subtle sweetness of the ube cheese bun.

The comfortingly familiar and local flavor profile reflects the culinary palette of Sheraton Manila's S Kitchen, and Oori Korean Restaurant is also represented with its Pajeon Galbi Burger (for more on S Kitchen and Oori by Sheraton Manila, see my previous posts, Elevating Filipino Cuisine: Come Home to S Kitchen's Sunday Fiesta at Sheraton Manila Hotel and Casual Bibimbap and Premium Barbecue Selections at Oori Korean Restaurant, Now Open at Sheraton Manila).

The pork sisig patty delivers a flavorful punch, recreating the savory richness of the beloved local classic. And it just comes together in a perfectly balanced burger creation, and you'll only find it at BAD Burgers of Resorts World Manila.

Two more equally inventive variants weave even more unique flavors to my BAD Burgers experience, and just like the Ube Cheese-Sig Burger, both variants offered surprising plays on flavors and textures.

The Tapsilog Burger by Casa Buenas takes inspiration from the popular breakfast favorite with an innovative and tasty Garlic Rice Cake bun topped with savory Angus beef patty, fried egg and pickled papaya slathered with the creamy and subtle sharp notes of pinakurat aioli weaving familiar local flavors. The Garlic Rice Cake Bun added both flavor and a delectable crunch with each bite, followed by the indulgent and bold flavors of the Angus beef patty with the extra layer of richness from the fried egg. The layers of richness are balanced by the sharp notes from the pickled papaya and pinakurat aioli.

I never knew that the popular tapsilog can be recreated in a burger, then again, Casa Buenas always surprises the palate with its inventive dishes. From the garlic rice cake bun to the pinakurat aioli, Casa Buenas just transforms the familiar into something refreshingly new and different (for more on Casa Buenas, see my earlier post, Come Home to Casa Buenas, Now Open at Resorts World Manila). But Casa Buenas isn't done yet, with their Donut Burger up next...

The Donut Burger by Casa Buenas combines both sweet and savory elements to another playfully inventive burger creation. A glazed donut topped with an Angus beef patty, cheddar cheese, bacon and fried egg delivers all the flavors we love plus the indulgent sweet notes of a glazed donut. It's a tricky and unlikely combination, but it works. Rich savory notes from the Angus beef patty and bacon followed by the fried egg and cheese is already pure happiness, the glazed donut is the perfect finishing touch. Meanwhile, back at the virtual press con (you can view the recorded online press con at Facebook here at https://www.facebook.com/98022256979/)...

To make the holiday season even more festive, two five-star hotels, Sheraton Manila and Hilton Manila, will begin accepting staycations to accommodate leisure travelers and families. Rest assured, your peace of mind is the top priority as Resorts World Manila implements a series of health and precautionary measures as mandated by the Department of Tourism to ensure the safety, comfort and convenience of the resort property's guests. Along with the staycation offers, several special accommodation offers and testing packages will be made available for guests. It's just one of many clear indications of how leisure and travel will look like in the new normal. Holiday Inn Express Manila, Savoy Hotel Manila and Belmont Hotel Manila will also offer a variety of packages for top quality accommodations to fit every preference, need or budget.
