Oysters, Foie Gras, Strawberries, and Chocolate: A Pre-Valentine's Sunday Brunch at Impressions...

A leisurely Sunday Brunch gets a romantic Valentine's vibe...

On a Sunday before Valentine's, Impressions laid out a sumptuous Sunday Brunch showcasing the world-class cuisine of Executive Chef Cyrille Soenen. And there's nothing like fresh oysters, foie gras, strawberries, chocolate and a whole lot more adding its own romantic Valentine's vibe to a lavish feast. It's an impressive spread you can expect every Sunday, at the Sunday Brunch buffet of Maxims Hotel's Impressions in Resorts World Manila.

Inside the elegant interiors of Impressions, the staff apply the final touches before the 11am Sunday Brunch, as Resorts World Manila's master chefs led by  Cyrille Soenen welcome  guests (for more on Executive Chef Cyrille Soenen, see my post, Food News: Chef Cyrille Soenen Homored as Master Chef).

The live stations at Impressions are fired up for the Sunday Brunch service with the day's freshest catch and premium steaks (for more on Maxims Hotel's Impressions, see my previous posts, A Lasting Impression...at Impressions of Resorts World Manila's Maxims Hotel and Impressed: Beef and Wine Nights at Impressions).

In front of the open kitchens, the staff showcased the freshest seafood, including plump prawns, mussels, scallops, lobsters and crabs prepared just the way you like it...

...have your fresh seafood grilled (L), like prawns, salmon, and scallops; or baked with cheese (R), great for lobsters, oysters, and scallops, your call. Just tell the station chefs how you like your seafood, and they will prepare it ala minute, and serve it fresh from the grill or oven.

Or simply enjoy it fresh, like these succulent and plump oysters on the half shell, just perfect.

At the Salad Station (L), you can find the freshest garden greens along with other vegetables and dressings to start off your Sunday Brunch at Impressions on a healthy note. Don't miss out on the other tasty bites at the station, like the Salmon Tartar (R) with its clean and refreshing notes...

...or the flavorful Salmon Gravlax, sliced paper-thin yet delivering a distinct richness. It's surprising how such a wide variety of dishes are featured on display, but leave it to master chef Cyrille Soenen and his team to impress you at Impressions.

Have a bit of everything, from Salmon Gravlax, Salmon Tartar, Deviled Eggs, creamy Potato Salad with dill, and slices of Prosciutto for starters, followed by a comforting bowl of rustic Crab Bisque Soup topped with croutons and fresh parsley.

Beside the Carving Station, you'll find a massive bamboo steamer containing the familiar dim sum, but then again, leave it to master chef Cyrille Soenen to surprise you with his inventive culinary style. These are not your usual dumplings, not when master chef Cyrille Soenen stuffs each one with indulgent foie gras...

At the Carving Station, you'll find assorted grilled and roasted meats, like the tender and juicy Roasted Lamb Leg...

...and the Porchetta ala Sisig, juicy pork belly stuffed with sisig capped by crisp outer layer of crackling. But there's more. That day, other savory treats included Smoked Beef Brisket, Baked Crusted Salmon, Baby Back Ribs, and Chicken Roulade.

In between your savory courses, why not cleanse your palate with refreshing seafood, like premium tuna and salmon sashimi (L), or go for a selection of handmade sushi and rice rolls (R) for a change of pace. Let the staff run you through their selection of sushi, including their special sushi draped with creamy sauces.

Then pick up your second or third plate and enjoy their Ebi Tempura, fresh from the fryers. You'll find the classic crisp and lightly battered tempura, and the unique Beetroot Tempura with its vibrant red hue for a new flavor experience.

And there's one more savory surprise. Before hitting the mains at Impressions, including their selection of imported ribeye steaks, ask the station chefs for their indulgent Foie Gras, and they will prepare it simply seared (L) or wrapped in a soft ravioli draped in a rich cream sauce (R)...

...just perfect when paired with their juicy Ribeye, fresh from the grill, cooked to medium rare. From starters to mains, Impressions at Maxims Hotel's got it covered for that intimate Sunday Brunch. Other selections offered include US Certified Angus Prime Rib, Angus Tenderloin, T-Bone Steaks, and Grilled Sea Bass.

But save room for dessert. With Valentine's coming up, intricate heart-shaped desserts were featured at the Dessert Station, including an indulgent Strawberry Shortcake (L) topped with plump and fresh strawberries, and the decadent Chocolate Mousse (R) with shards of dark chocolate.

The Valentine's theme is reflected in all their sweet creations, adding a celebratory vibe to our Sunday Brunch at Impressions.

But one look at the bright red fresh strawberries was enough to pull me and grab a plate, loading it up with these beauties along with marshmallows and thick chocolate. Strawberries and chocolate on a leisurely Sunday Brunch at Impressions...just can't get better than that.

You can also opt for a crepe stuffed with strawberries, freshly prepared ala minute and drizzled with chocolate. Elegant dining and superb service, the Sunday Brunch at Impressions lets you enjoy a sumptuous feast with just the right amount of intimacy making our dining experience even more special.
