A Sip of the Local Neighborhood Coffee Culture at Coffee Artea in Makati's Poblacion

The narrow streets of Poblacion are slowly getting back to its once vibrant character as quarantine restrictions are eased up. The familiar destinations along with a new neighborhood Café is breathing life back to the laid-back and casual Bohemian character of the 'hood...

Like an extended patio, Coffee Artea adds yet another colorful weave in Poblacion's multi-colored fabric with its own unique take on soothing coffee and tea-based handcrafted beverages using the finest indigenous local ingredients. Step inside Coffee Artea for a taste of the local neighborhood coffee culture in the first of two parts on Poblacion's evolving story in the new normal...

The continued stress forced upon us from the complicated set of new challenges due to the quarantine experience has clearly taken its toll, as changing consumer habits emerge in a slow transition to the new normal. Adapt, evolve and transform remain the common thread that links us all, both consumers and businesses in a lingering pandemic. We all need that much needed break to de-stress, declutter and free ourselves from the constant barrage of the persistent bug in our social media newsfeeds. Through this haze of uncertainty peeks a new sanctuary for coffee and art lovers, giving us all some sense of clarity with guarded optimism...

Hanzel and Kalel Ervin Demetrio, aka The Liquido Maestro, along with other partners come together to create their own personal take on local coffee culture drawing inspiration from homegrown ingredients. The Liquid Maestro of Agimat Foraging Bar and Kitchen brings his innovative and creative approach with his signature cocktails and spirits to coffee for a new and unique experience (for more on Agimat and their specialty cocktails and spirits, see my posts, A Night in Monochrome, at Agimat Foraging Bar and Kitchen on the resurgence of Poblacion and Proudly Homegrown: Enchanting Libations by Destileria Barako with The Liquido Maestro at Agimat Foraging Bar and Kitchen on their exciting new spirits and liqueurs).

Aptly named, Coffee Artea isn't just a café. It's also the neighborhood's mini-art gallery for local artists. Each handcrafted beverage at Coffee Artea combines these art forms (yes, coffee is an art in itself) in a seamless tightly woven blend for an immersive and deeply personal experience.

Simply pick a spot on the sidewalk and enjoy your handcrafted brew al fresco following proper social distancing for your peace of mind and savor each sip outdoors.

After the long days of quarantine, enjoying a freshly brewed creation at Coffee Artea is a much welcome break and even liberating in stark contrast to the confined mindset of isolation at home. And it's proof of the resilient character of the neighborhood.

Step inside Coffee Artea and free your mind from the stress and isolation of the quarantine experience. But do maintain the basic health and safety protocols by bringing your shield and mask while observing proper social distancing. We're not out of the woods yet. And experience a soothing sip from the neighborhood's newest café. Want to see more? Read the second part of the story here at New in the 'Hood: Art and Coffee at Coffee Artea in Poblacion...
