What's in the Pantry...Casademont Fuet Extra

La Furia Roja's dominance in the recent EuroCup Finals calls for a celebration. With a convincing 4-0 victory over the Azzuris, clearly a statement for the defending World Cup and now two-time EuroCup Champions. And what better way to celebrate the championship than with a little taste of Spain.

I've been saving this little baby for a special occasion, and the EuroCup finals seemed like a perfect reason. Casademont's Fuet Extra, a dried salami marbled with enough fat that literally melts in your mouth. Rich with a buttery mouth feel, not too salty, just perfect.

A family-run business based in Girona, Casademont was established in 1956 and has long been known for its premium charcuterie products. What started with a little butcher shop has now expanded to include major factories and meat processing plants producing quality meat products.

With a stable domestic market driving the company's continued growth, Casademont has expanded its reach overseas, with 40% of the company's production sold to foreign markets.

Pop open a bottle of wine, and you're all set. Here's a toast to Casademont and the La Furia Rojas...

Casademont and other fine Spanish products are available at Terry Selection, and you can visit their branch at The Podium or call 636-3513.

  1. There is an amazing Spanish food market in Seattle--now I'm wishing I'd stocked up the last time I was there!

  2. Holy cow... I've never had fatty salami before but something tells me that I'd REALLY enjoy that and would be very difficult to switch back to regular salami after that ;p Thanks for sharing this will definitely look out for this in my local deli

  4. Oh, my gosh! This loos divine! I have not tried Spanish salami but it looks very similar to Italian salami that I love. I was so sad for Italy to lose like that... More luck next time, right? :) Spain was great and they deserved the victory. I am glad they did not beat Croatia like they did Italy in the finals.... :) Thanks for linking up to Food Photo linky! :)

    1. Hi Mira, it's an awesome sausage! And I was surprised too with Spain's 1-nil loss to Japan, hopefully they will do better in the next few games in London. And you are right, Croatia played well against Spain. Thanks for dropping by Mira!
