Casting Spells of Good Vibes in Poblacion at Gayuma

Mystical love potions may seem out of sync in today's digital age, but it just fits right in at the quirky neighborhood of Poblacion. At Gayuma...

Poblacion is the kind of neighborhood where anything and everything feels just right. It's that eclectic and bohemian vibe that makes Poblacion a favorite, offering a variety of flavors for everyone. Gayuma is a welcome addition to the neighborhood's bar and culinary scene with their own potent version of a modern love potion and comforting cuisine...

The legends of love potions, aphrodisiacs and mystical folklore come together in a modern and cool bar inside Poblacion with soothing cocktails and hearty dishes for a fun night out. At the opening, we had a taste of Gayuma and its enchanting spell...

Inside Gayuma, the mish-mash of varied and colorful elements somehow come together giving it a unique off-beat charm adding to the vibrant nightlife of the neighborhood. Colored bottles and candles illuminate the interiors with a warm glow, making it a cool and perfect spot for cocktails.

That evening, the bar served endless rounds of wine to get you in the groove in no time. And when you suddenly get the gift of gab early in the evening, maybe it's not just the free-flowing wine but the magical aura of Gayuma working its spell. Whatever it is, go have another glass and go with the flow.

Pair your wine or cocktail with Gayuma's Sausage Party (P 280), a platter of different sausages that's perfect with a dab of spicy mustard.

Pace your drinks with Gayuma's other tasty bites including their Sosy Fries (P 130) and the sinful Sikretong Bulaklak (P 180) served with a mildly sweet and tart garlicky vinegar dip. Now that dip is a magical potion in itself and should be bottled and sold for take home. But restrain yourself from double-dipping...

The evening takes on a wicked twist as the signature cocktail is served...

Gayuma's signature cocktail, aptly named Gayuma (P 150), is an intoxicating sweet blend of vodka, grenadine and fresh fruit juices in a large fishbowl of a glass. Treat it right, and this can be your love potion for the evening.

Adding to the evening's mystical vibe is renowned tarot reader Rob Rubin...

...who lays it all out with the tarot cards to guide you in all your questions on love, career and prosperity. I have to say, my experience with Rob Rubin's readings have been eye-opening to say the least. Everything just seemed so spot on almost like he's known you for years. That definitely calls for another drink...

Have another round of cocktails and pair it with Gayuma's Hot O's (P 180), crisp onion rings with a light outer layer of crunchy breading...

...and Babycakes (P 100), savory oyster cakes with bold flavors.

But there's more. The Wings of Love (P 230) features three different flavors and spice levels of wings and the Wholehearted Chicken (P 450), a comforting fried chicken dish that's both juicy and crunchy. Another piece? Absolutely.

Gayuma's playful character is seen in the witty names of its signature dishes like the Pampalakas ng Tuhod (P 120), a unique pasta topped with fried balut, which many claim to have aphrodisiac qualities...

and the tempting crispy pata for some real pork love.

The Patang Sikat (P 450) is perfectly executed, with tender and juicy pork capped by a lightly crisp layer of crackling served with that same mildly sweet and tart garlicky vinegar dip. Just perfect.

One more Gayuma cocktail for the road at Gayuma. Love potions and aphrodisiacs. Good vibes. It's a captivating spell. At Gayuma...

Gayuma is located at Azotea Suites, Polaris corner Felipe Streets, Poblacion, Makati City.
