Say Annyeong as the Pizza Revolution Expands South with the Second Eat Pizza Branch at SM Mall of Asia

Sweet potato, bulgogi, samgyeopsal, Korean sausage, sweet corn cheese and sweet milk, that's just some of the ingredients you don't normally find in a usual pizza. Then again, the 10-inch rectangular pizza that's currently all the rage in Korea isn't your typical pizza. It's time to slide out some pizza goodness andiscover a new way of enjoying pizza at the second location of Eat Pizza at SM Mall of Asia...

Round, square, thin or deep dish, pizza in all its unique renditions continue to satisfy all our cravings for the enduring and beloved staple. And now, a new and exciting pizza revolution heads down south of the metro by the bay with the opening of Eat Pizza at SM Mall of Asia. The 10-inch rectangular pizza sensation from Korea with both classic and non-traditional pizza flavors with a distinct Korean spin presents a whole new and exciting way to enjoy the world's favorite pie. And you too can experience it at the second location of Eat Pizza in SM Mall of Asia.

Following the success of its first location in Manila at SM City North Edsa (see more on my post Slide Into The Latest Craze From Korea With The Unique 10-Inch Pizza Creations at Eat Pizza), Eat Pizza follows up with its second location at SM Mall of Asia now covering both ends of the metro in just a few months. The popular and innovative South Korean brand's expansion to SM Mall of Asia is just the second of many more planned in the pipeline driven by its commitment to bring its radically unique Korean-inspired pizza to even more Filipino pizza lovers.

Since it first opened back in 2021 in South Korea, Eat Pizza challenged and redefined the way we enjoy pizza with its signature and unique 10 inch rectangular shape called the "Slide." With its novel and even unexpected approach to flavors, both the shape and inventive variants quickly gained a following resulting in rapid expansion with over a hundred locations in South Korea followed by a growing presence in Southeast Asia with stores in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and now the Philippines. It's unique shape is the perfect size for a meal, and that means you can enjoy your pizza just the way you like it. Gone are the days when you had to compromise your preferred flavor option when dining out with the gang with one large round pizza. Plus, the convenient packaging lets you enjoy your pizza without the mess. Simply "slide" it for a clean bite straight from the box.

As with all pizza creations, the crust followed by the toppings are at the very heart and core of the experience. Almost like a Detroit style pizza yet not quite, Eat Pizza is in a class and style all its own. Made with high-protein dough and infused with extra virgin olive oil, the dense crust is also delectably crisp with the charred edges adding that crunch we all look for in a pizza. It's this play on contrasting textures from the crisp edges to the soft doughy center with its generous load of toppings like 100% Mozzarella that makes these fresh baked creations of Eat Pizza stand out from the usual cutting through the clutter of the crowded local pizza scene. And you can bet Eat Pizza is aiming for a hefty and substantial piece of the local pie market. Meaningful and relevant differentiation becomes the critical key in penetrating the well established pizza market, and Eat Pizza hits it right on the nail.

And it's the perfect base for a wide selection of flavorful toppings including some you never even imagined on a pizza. And this is where Eat Pizza pulls it off for a refreshingly new and pleasantly unexpected pizza experience. Sweet Milk, Sweet Potato, Sweet Corn Cheese, Beef Bulgogi, Hot & Spicy Bulgogi, Korean Sausage and Samgyeopsal, bet you never even considered these on a pizza. But you're in for a flavorful surprise with its medley of sweet, savory and spicy notes all coming together in a perfectly seamless weave with each tasty bite. Eat Pizza also offers traditional pizza renditions with the Classic Cheese and Pepperoni in case you're craving for a more familiar and conventional pizza experience. And if you're one of those die-hard pizza fans who love pineapple, Eat Pizza has that covered too with the Aloha. Everyone has the right to pick their pizza, so go ahead.

At the opening, top management represented by (L-R) SM Mall of Asia Mall Manager Perkin So, Scotland Food Group Corp. Chief Operating Officer Roel Sun and Scotland Food Group Corp. Managing Director Scott Tan performed the ceremonial ribbon cutting...

...to formally open the second store of Eat Pizza down by the bay at SM Mall of Asia. From Korea to the Philippines, the pizza revolution sparks up the local dining scene with its distinctive 10 inch pizza slides.

It's unique form and Korean-inspired flavors promises to shake up the local pizza landscape at prices that won't bust your wallet. Ranging from just P 99 to P 179, you can enjoy a slide or two for a satisfying snack or even a light meal. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Scotland Food Group Corp. Managing Director Scott Tan along with key executives demonstrated how to properly execute the "slide" with Korea's Original 10-Inch Pizza

And that's the cue to begin the epic feast at Eat Pizza in SM Mall of Asia...

That day, all flavor variants were sampled for a refreshing twist that made Eat Pizza the hottest sensation from Korea, up there alongside K-Pop, Korean fried chicken and samgyeopsal

At the counter, guests queued up for their boxes of "slides" paired with their equally popular sides like Sweet Potato Corn Cheese (P 129), Sweet & Spicy Corn Cheese (P 129), Tteokbokki with Cheese (P 139), Spaghetti (P 139) and Carbonara (P 139). But if you're dining with your usual group or just really hungry, you can also opt for the Group Sliders with the Sliders A (P 550) with four pizzas and 1 liter of Iced Tea or the Sliders B (P 999) with eight pizzas and two 1 liter Iced Teas. Even in a group, you're sure to enjoy your preferred pizza flavor at Eat Pizza

My personal picks? The Beef Bulgogi (P 179) and Korean Sausage (P 179). That blend of mildly sweet and richly savory notes of distinct Korean flavors lends itself well in pizza form. The bold flavors of bulgogi punches through lingering long on the palate while the fresh snap of the richly seasoned juicy sausage brings a flavorful burst with each bite. The subtle nutty hints, delicate crispness and dense bite of the crust completes the play on flavors and textures for a whole new pizza experience.

Scotland Food Group Corp. Managing Director Scott Tan revealed that this is just the beginning, hinting at plans for even more branches in the metro. "We're thrilled to bring Eat Pizza to more Filipinos and introduce them to our unique pizza experience," shared Scott Tan. "This year, we're focused on expanding our presence to reach even more people across the country, so that more Filipinos can enjoy our flavorful fusion of Korean and pizza culture."

The popularity of Korean culture, specifically its entertainment culture and cuisine, continues to rise among a growing local audience eager to experience something new. Eat Pizza builds on this fascination with everything and anything Korean with its creative yet seamless blend of bold Korean flavors in pizza form. And it's a combo that works. Where else can you find pizza with bulgogi, samgeopsal, sweet potato, sweet corn cheese and sweet milk? That's right. Only at Eat Pizza

The unusual yet functional 10-inch rectangular form retains all the qualities we love in a pizza from its hand-held convenience and portability, the generous load of fresh premium toppings and the delicately crisp finish of the crust. Plus, you can enjoy bite after tasty bite without the usual mess. Simply slide one out straight from the box for a bite.

And you can explore a wide variety of flavorful combos from the Beef Bulgogi (P 179) and Korean Sausage (P 179) to the Sweet Milk (P 99), Aloha (P 129) with pineapple, Sweet Corn Cheese (P 129), Sweet Potato (P 129), Hot & Spicy Bulgogi (P 179) and Samgyeopsal (P 179). The Classic Cheese (P 99) and Pepperoni (P 129) offer familiar notes to get acquainted with the Eat Pizza experience from that first bite all the way to the last.

We've seen food trends come and go, but Eat Pizza combines both flavor and real value in a refreshingly new and creative pizza expression that's bound to stick and stand out in the increasingly cluttered local restaurant scene. Can this be the next big thing in the culinary landscape with its broad appeal to a growing and emerging young market? Maybe. And I'm placing my bets on the Beef Bulgogi and Korean Sausage of Eat Pizza to see this through.

If you still haven't tried Eat Pizza in its first store at SM City North Edsa, you can now visit the second location at SM Mall of Asia when that unexpected craving for a slice (or make that a "slide") strikes. Maybe it's time too to change up your pizza game with Korea's original 10-Inch Pizza at Eat Pizza...
