It's that time of the year once more to roll out barrels, kegs and beer steins of fun and good vibes. Newport World Resorts hosts the much awaited annual Bavarian tradition once more with its grand Oktoberfest celebration at the ballroom of Hilton Manila. It's time to raise a toast...
Since the inaugural Oktoberfest festivities back in 2024, Newport World Resorts rolls out the barrels once again with this year's edition of Oktoberfest 2026 at Hilton Manila on October 28 to 31. The four-day celebration transports you to the revered beer halls and tents of Munich with kegs of Weihenstephan, Bavarian sausages and good times. Come hungry. And thirsty. Read on for a sneak peek of this year's edition of Oktoberfest at Newport World Resorts...

The annual tradition draws millions of visitors each year to Munich, and celebrated around the world in a shared love for Bavarian beer with a festive communal spirit. The origins of the uniquely Bavarian celebration can be traced back to the royal wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hidburghausen in October 12, 1810 with the public invited to the feast in the open fields outside the city gates. Since then, the annual celebration has been part of Bavarian culture showcasing its world-renowned brews and cuisine. This year's Oktoberfest celebration at Newport World Resorts replicates the same vibe and flavors of the annual folk festival in four festive days starting October 28.
The management team of Newport World Resorts and Hilton Manila welcomed guests to the exclusive preview at the ballroom of Hilton Manila...
...led by Hilton Manila GM Gagan Talwar. Long tables lined up the ballroom at Hilton Manila, with the ceiling adorned with colorful banners linking back to the origins and traditions of the royal wedding from more than two centuries ago. It's Oktoberfest, and Newport World Resorts and Hilton Manila gets each tiny detail right...
...including the customary fresh-baked Laugen Pretzels on wooden stands for each long table. It's always a good idea to start with pretzels before endless rounds of Weihenstephan. And there's tradition and a science behind this as well. As early as the 7th century, it's said that monks paired their twisted bread shaped like crossed arms in prayer with beer. It's also about balanced flavors with the delectable salty hints of pretzels tempering the bold bitter notes of classic hoppy beers like lagers IPAs.
After a few tasty bites of pretzels with hot mustard, you're ready to kick-off your Oktoberfest with a cold and refreshing glass stein filled with the prized brews from one of Europe's oldest breweries, Weihenstephan, established way back in 1040 AD. That's more than 986 years of brewing mastery in your ice-cold glass stein filled to the brim with the frothy head of Weiss, Dunkel or Wheat Beer.

Then, the moment everyone was waiting for. The prestigious premier leisure and entertainment destination property's top management represented by Newport World Resorts Chief Hospitality Officer John Lucas, Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts GM Gagan Talwar, Newport World Resorts Senior VP for Commercial Sales and Partnership Kathy Mercado, Newport World Resorts VP for Food & Beverage Knut Becker, Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts Director of Operations Iulai Sau and host Eric Bituin formally opened the Oktoberfest celebrations appropriately with the ceremonial toast. And just like that, another memorable evening at Newport World Resorts begins...
...starting with an impressive sumptuous buffet spread with gourmet cheeses and charcuterie...
...the tempting Wurstsalat or sausage salad...
...and the Kartoffelsalat or German Potato Salad. The spread also included other salad options like the Nudelsalat or pasta salad and Karottensalat or carrot salad. The comforting Beef Goulash Soup was another option to warm the palate at the buffet spread along with Brötchen Rolls, Lavosh Crackers and Germain Rye with an assortment of dips like Sweet Mustard, German Yellow Mustard, Butter, Pork Lard and Liver Spread.
And the savory delicacies don't end just yet. The culinary team of Hilton Manila presented quite an impressive spread with crisp, juicy and creamy Cheese-Stuffed Frikadellen or meat patties paired with the Spätzle or German noodles with cream sauce, Emmental, Gruyere and crispy onions.
And don't forget a heaping side of Bratkartoffein or seasoned fried potatoes to pair with your savory mains along with some Sauerkraut too.
And yes, the kitchen also presented a double dose of Wiener Schnitzel goodness with chicken and the Schweinschnitzel with pork. Tender, crisp and juicy, the duo of schnitzels are the tasty opening act of sumptuous mains at the Oktoberfest celebrations of Newport World Resorts.
At the Carving Station, a familiar dish catches your eye. The Schweinshaxn or crispy pork knuckles is another highlight at the Oktoberfest buffet spread by Hilton Manila.
Grab a large plate for your load of Schweinshaxn plus some German Meat Loaf too.
But it's the Zwiebelrostbraten or roast beef with onions that's high up on my list of personal picks...
...with fork-tender slabs of richly seasoned beef for that hearty savory punch best washed down with another stein filled with Weihenstephan.
Take a closer look and you just know you can't pass this up. It's Oktoberfest, just go with the flow, right?
Another round gets you right into the Oktoberfest groove, and the good times just keeps on coming at Newport World Resorts.
But it's just not Oktoberfest without sausages, and Hilton Manila brings its solid repertoire of savory goodness in tube form to the feast starting with the Weisswurst Sausages slowly simmered in a light broth. Literally translated as "white sausages," the Weisswurst is made with veal and pork delivering a mild and delicately nuanced savory notes with light herbal hints. There is a ritual in enjoying these sausages, and it involves carefully peeling the casing and diving straight to the seasoned filling paired with sweet mustard. Then again, you make your own rules.
The Thüringer Sausage with its lean pork filling seasoned with spices and garlic, black pepper and marjoram bring bold and deep savory notes...
...while the Frankfurter Sausage brings familiar smoky hints with that fresh snap after each tasty bite. The subtle yet pronounced salty hints will have you going back for another bite. Guaranteed.
The thin Nürnberger Sausage offers equally rich and complex spiced flavors pairing well with sauerkraut and a side of Kartoffelsalat.
As you go for another round of sausages, a near empty stein calls for a prompt and immediate action. A refill is in order, and it's a quick fix to maintain that Oktoberfest vibe.
Meanwhile, the festival's host Eric Bituin announces another key component of the Oktoberfest celebrations requiring audience participation. That's right, let the games begin...
A test of strength, the Masskrugstemmen or Stein Holding endurance competition involves holding a full and heavy beer stein out straight with one arm. Last man (or woman) standing wins. Another round of beer is said to add some superhuman powers, so drink up and join for a chance to win some cool prizes. And if chugging down a full stein is more your jam, this is your chance to break the one minute mark. Then, there's the Hammerschlagen or hammer striking competition that tests the limits of your hand and eye coordination after few rounds of Weihenstephan. Precision, more than strength is the key in literally nailing down the win.
In between sips and bites, check out the awesome rides from Labretta and Suzuki. Admit it, you've always wanted some cool two-wheeled conveyance. Hold that thought and fill up your stein. This may be the sign you've been waiting for.
And it just keeps getting better. Come October 28, you can sing along with the catchy Bavarian accordion-driven melodies by the AnTon Showband for all four nights. The Austrian band is a constant Oktoberfest attraction across Asia, and you get chance to sing along with the acclaimed show band at Newport World Resorts starting October 28.
To cap a sumptuous Oktoberfest feast, the culinary team of Hilton Manila teases your palate with indulgent dessert like Apfelstrudel or Apple Strudel for the proper sweet ending to your Oktoberfest experience at Newport World Resorts...
...plus Krapfen or jam-filled doughnuts, Kaiserschmanrrn or caramelized pancakes with strawberry compote and Schokoladen Labkuchen Kirschkugeln or Chocolate Labkuchen Cherry Balls.
