The Elegant And Timeless Eleven Bladed Fan Icon Is Unfurled Once More With The Return Of Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila

A timeless and enduring symbol blending exquisite grace, beauty and artistic excellence, the iconic eleven-bladed fan emblem representing the core pillars of their service philosophy marks a triumphant return to Manila. Since 1985, the elegant fan has been a symbol of unparalleled service and hospitality among guests and travelers. And you've waited long enough. The renowned fan will soon be unfurled and opened once more...

The Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila returns to Manila this November 2026 to continue another chapter that began way back in 1976. Everyone has a memorable story from the clean lines of the Leandro Locsin designed brutalist triangular structure back in its heyday. I know I've had one too many from Captain's Bar then. And soon, volumes of new stories will be made at the sleek and contemporary glass and steel facade representing a modern expression of Filipino luxury. The wait will soon be over...

At the exclusive preview dubbed "An Evening of Elegance" held at the Manila House Private Members Club in BGC, General Manager Franck Droin shared what guests can expect at the new luxury 5-Star Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila. Long known for its legacy of world-class service and hospitality, the new Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila will feature an impressive inventory of 275 rooms and suites with residential style room layouts, five unique dining concepts and facilities including an 800 square meter dedicated wellness sanctuary, ballrooms and event spaces. The new structure boasts of an exquisite blend of local craftsmanship and architectural innovation aligned with the global aesthetic of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

The Manila House Private Members Club served a tempting array of handcrafted cocktails that evening like the Mojito Granada with dark rum, mint, lime juice, pomegranate and lychee syrup to open up the palate...

...for a sumptuous feast of Peking Duck wrapped in thin pancakes or steamed buns with hoisin sauce, leeks and cucumber...

...the Salt-Crusted Lapu-Lapu with creamy aioli, soy sauce, lemon olive oil and pinakurat...

...and the fork-tender and savory F1 Wagyu Picanha for a lavish taste of things to come.

Tasty sides like the Oriental Salad Station and Pineapple Egg Fried Rice rounded up the tempting spread by the Manila House Private Members Club.

In between bites, enjoy soothing sips of the Galleon Trade Mocktail with homemade pomelo syrup, rube red grapefruit, calamansi and native Tibuok salt.

Another highlight of the evening was the exciting Mid-Autumn Festival Mooncake Dice Game with overnight stays and dining at the new Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila as prizes. The fun-filled evening was just a taste as guests can soon look forward to the formal unfurling of the legendary eleven bladed fan and everything it represents in all its glory at the new Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila.

The new Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila is purposefully reimagined for a new generation of guests and travelers as it transforms the ever changing skyline of the Makati CBD once more with its rich tradition and history enhanced by a modern and contemporary vision in step with the times.
