Your Breakfast. At Your Local...

The blur of the late-morning rush always requires a stiff caffeine fix for that much needed dose of clarity. And a hearty breakfast completes your late morning start. Find both at Your Local...

Known for their distinctive Asian Fusion inspired cuisine, Your Local weaves its signature spin on favorite breakfast staples that's guaranteed to give you all the reasons you need to start your day at one of the metro's most innovative and enduring dining concepts. At an exclusive preview, Your Local showcased some of their new breakfast offerings including inventive beverages for that late morning start. Read on for a sneak peek at Your Local's new breakfast menu, available starting November 8...

Located at the always busy street of Esteban in Makati's Legaspi Village, Your Local has consistently earned both praise and raves for their creative take on comforting yet modern culinary style infused with rich Asian flavors. Now your breakfast receives the same inspired touch...

At the helm of Your Local's kitchen is Chef Natalia Moran, one of the country's talented young culinary personalities. I first met Chef Natalia Moran three years ago at a pop-up for SpiceBird (more on my post at Spicing Up the Metro at the SpiceBird Pop-Up), and I was immediately impressed. Chef Natalia makes the rustic piri-piri chicken an elegant entree loaded with so many rich and complex flavors, I just knew breakfast at Your Local would also be special. And different. At the exclusive preview, Chef Natalia Moran served six dishes from the new breakfast menu which will eventually feature 12 new items. Each of the six breakfast dishes reflected Chef Natalia Moran's very own take on rich Asian flavors in perfect sync with Your Local's Asian culinary style.

Nothing like a soothing Flat White to start your late morning and open up your palate for the very first dish...

Your Local's Coconut Gula Melaka Pancakes is a visual feast, first feeding the eyes with its muted yet vibrant palette of colors topped with edible flowers. Even the distorted blue plate with its Salvador Dali-like warped edge adds to the visual flair and presentation of the dish. The soft and fluffy coconut and chia pancakes deliver mildly nutty flavors, capped by the intense sweetness of the kaya jam, gula melaka and tart fresh mangoes.

This isn't your usual pancake. The sweetness doesn't overwhelm the palate, making you go for another bite followed by more. The nutty coconut and sweet mangoes weave indulgent notes with each bite for a refreshingly new pancake experience. It's a kind of breakfast dish that guarantees a mellow start to your late morning.

Your Local also offers new and refreshing beverages, like the Pandan Gula Melaka with lime, palm sugar, pandan and tapioca pearls...

...and the soothing Purple Coconut with its deep purple hues. A unique blend of dragonfruit and coconut milk, the Purple Coconut weaves these contrasting flavors in a seamless blend.

Topped with grated coconut and fresh mint, each sip drapes the palate with a creamy richness from the coconut milk tempered by the subtle sharpness of the dragonfruit for a perfectly balanced finish. The colors alone makes this beverage a must-try, while one sip just seals the deal.

The creamy and buttery notes of salmon are highlighted in the comforting Fresh Fried Egg and Salmon Sandwich with premium smoked salmon, bacon jam, fried egg and garden-fresh and crisp greens on a soft squid-ink bun served with a side of richly seasoned fries.

Chef Natalia Moran's culinary style plays on the rich layering of flavors without overpowering the other. It's all about balance. Just like smoked salmon and fluffy egg juxtaposed with the deep smoky hints of bacon jam and capped by the crisp greens for clean flavors and textural contrast. The sandwich is a light yet hearty meal in itself.

Your Local's Chorizo and Avocado Toast combines sweet and salty notes with the sharp and smoky flavors of crumbled chorizo with spiced avocado mash, creamy 64 degree eggs, kesong puti and nuoc cham salad on a crisp slab of buttered sourdough.

The flavors are both comforting and familiar, and that's a good thing. The poached egg and avocado coats your palate with a velvety smooth richness followed by the bold, smoky and salty chorizo for another delectable pairing of contrasting flavors. If you're having a slow start, this will perk you up with a few bites.

Here's one more look and you can already imagine how all these flavors come together in one bite. And don't forget the side of salad. Fresh and crisp draped with a tart vinaigrette, the salad completes the dish. Every component in the dishes served so far play a flavorful role, just the way it should with nothing frivolous.

No late breakfast or brunch menu is complete without an Eggs Benedict dish, and Your Local's signature Asian spin steps forward in the next dish...

The Beef Rendang Eggs Benedict is a savory twist on the breakfast favorite lending its beefy and spicy coconut richness to 64 degree poached eggs, pickled cucumbers and sambal hollandaise on buttered English muffins.

The Beef Rendang adds depth to the dish, with the lingering heat from the spices and the creamy sambal hollandaise punching through with its distinctive Asian flavors. The poached eggs adds an elegant finish to the dish, punctuated by the pickled cucumbers. There's a whole range of flavors at play with this dish, yet it all comes together in a delicate balance. Like the pancakes, this isn't your usual eggs benny. It's flavors like this that make Your Local a favorite in the busy Legaspi Village neighborhood.

The Glazed Pork Nasi Lemak should satisfy any savory cravings with tender braised pork belly paired with coconut rice, sweet and spicy anchovies, peanuts and fried eggs. The use of braised pork belly results in an elevated version of nasi lemak, with its thin layer of fat adding even more flavor.

The fried eggs, with its crisp edges, and the coconut rice makes this a real meal. Just perfect for a late breakfast or brunch.

I've enjoyed every dish so far, but there's one that stood out and left an impression. All the dishes, after all, are refreshingly inventive takes on popular breakfast staples. The Salmon Otak Otak isn't what you'd expect on a typical breakfast menu. But you'll find it here at Your Local...

Inspired by the traditional Southeast Asian Otak Otak found in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, Your Local uses grilled salmon for a silky smooth fish cake with a butter-like consitency. The richness of salmon from its natural oils give Your Local's otak otak a richness like no other pairing well with the coconut rice, shredded scrambled egg and spicy sambal.

Wrapped in banana leaf giving the fish cake a fragrant aroma, Your Local's Salmon Otak Otak is a sumptuous play on both flavors and textures. It's something refreshingly different for a late breakfast or brunch. And it fits perfectly with Your Local's modern Asian-inspired cuisine. This one's a new late breakfast or brunch favorite. Fresh, bold and inspired flavors, Chef Natalia Moran clearly nails it with all of her new breakfast dishes.

The new breakfast menu at Your local will be served starting October, and that's definitely something to look forward to. The fusion of tradition and modern cuisine come together perfectly, you just can't expect anything less from Your Local. Your breakfast?
