Taking A Bigger Slice of the Pie: Meet Pizza Sisters From The Wildflour Restaurant Group

A cool sister act takes on the local pizza market with their own unique and inspired creations offering pizza lovers a whole new slice of savory flavors. Ready for a bite?

The Wildflour Restaurant Group aims for a slice of the pie with its latest and innovative dining concept with Pizza Sisters. The new brand is inspired by sisters and co-founders of the dynamic restaurant group Ana Lorenzana De Ocampo and Chef Margie Lorenzana-Manzke built around their masterful executions of fresh-baked bread and pastries including their acclaimed Wildflour Italian Pizza recently voted among the Top 50 in the Asia-Pacific. The passion and uncompromising love for the craft by the sister act have resulted in lavish new savory expressions with the ovens of the Wildflour Restaurant Group now churning classic pizza creations like Pepperoni, Farmer's MarketSausage and more at Pizza Sisters.

Located right beside the newly renovated Pink's Burgers & Hot Dogs (for more on Pink's, see my post Hot Dogs, Cheeseburgers and Fried Chicken Sandwiches? Think Pink's Manila...) and the Hotel Bar from the Wildflour Restaurant Group at the Ground Floor of Shangri-La The FortPizza Sisters is your newest pizza destination in the BGC commercial and business district.

What sets Pizza Sisters apart from the rest? The distinctive char around the edges of the blistered crust offers a clue to the brand's approach to pizza. Light and delicately crisp, the roster of pizza offerings with its delectable crust range from traditional to playfully inventive expressions fresh off the Italian deck oven. That's right, Pizza Sisters uses the sleek modern stainless steel deck ovens for that delicate and even crispness with each pizza. But it's the dough that makes the difference giving the new pizza offerings its signature spin by the Pizza Sisters.

And that first bite seals the deal. Start with a classic like the timeless and enduring Pepperoni Pizza (P 895) generously topped with tart and premium San Marzano tomatoes and creamy buffalo Mozzarella. Each bite brings comfortingly familiar notes to the palate with the savory richness of the pepperoni and vibrant sharpness of the San Marzano tomatoes smoothened by the silky smooth Mozzarella for that flavorful yet balanced burst.

One bite leads to another taking you all the way to the crusty edge. And I have to admit, it's not very often I start my slice with a bite of the crust. That says a whole lot about Pizza Sisters. The crust looks deceptively thick but with a surprisingly light crispness, a result of the mastery and culinary prowess of the culinary duo, the Italian deck oven and maybe just a touch of wicked alchemy. And it all comes together seamlessly with each tasty bite.

The signature crust then becomes the perfect base for another brilliant pizza execution aptly named the Farmer's Market (P 795) topped with the day's freshest market produce. That day, garden-fresh eggplant, bell peppers and onions with layers of cheese on a crisp crust draped with rich tomato sauce was one of many flavorful surprises at Pizza Sisters. Clean yet rich flavors become the dominant themes of the unique pizza variant for a refreshing change from the usual.

Using only the freshest seasonal produce, each specialty crust becomes a blank canvas for the creative and colorful palette of Pizza Sisters. Simply ask the servers for the day's fresh garden medley of market offerings.

In between bites, enjoy an indulgent and soothing Rootbeer Float (P 280) topped with the luscious specialty in-house soft-serve of Farmacy Ice Cream

The silky smooth soft-serve and fizz from the rootbeer teases the palate with each nostalgic sip taking you back to countless carefree childhood summers decadently recreated at Pizza Sisters. One more sip preps the palate as the next pizza is served fresh off the stainless steel deck ovens...

The Sausage Pizza (P 895) with Italian sausage, broccoli, Mozzarella and fennel pollen offers a delectable yet refined play on contrasting flavors. The richness of the pork combined with the subtle sweetness of the broccoli pair well in a seamless weave made even flavorful with the Mozzarella and fennel.

The Italian sausage and broccoli combo is another surprising savory creation that delivers all the satisfying notes. The addition of broccoli brings an elegant depth and subtle sweetness to the bold savory notes of the sausage with the supporting cast of cheeses completing the flavors...

...capped by that perfect crust. Pizza Sisters clearly have a well-defined focus and mission for their latest concept formally announcing its entry into the competitive upmarket pizza segment. From the pages of their game-winning culinary playbook that built the Wildflour Restaurant Group, sisters Ana Lorenzana De Ocampo and Chef Margie Lorenzana-Manzke aim for a bigger slice of the pie with Pizza Sisters. Premium ingredients on a winning crust, that's a winning play.

The pizza offerings at Pizza Sisters are solid contenders from the esteemed lineage of the Wildflour Italian Pizza ranked among the Top 50 in the Asia-Pacific, but the Pepperoni, Farmer's Market and Sausage Pizza along with the Margherita, Four Cheese, Meatlovers and Mushroom can stand on its own. And that specialty crust is one class act. So step inside for a slice and a bite at the metro's newest pizza destination. At Pizza Sisters in BGC...
