Chef hacks and insider tricks of the trade, recreating restaurant quality output at home, and an in-depth look at the industry's upcoming movers and shakers..it's all happening at the second season of Chef Next Door with Chef Jonas Ng.
The Group Entertainment and iSnap Creatives presents the second season of Chef Next Door with Jonas Ng on the Lifestyle Network every Wednesday at 9:30 pm. And if you enjoyed the premier season of Chef Next Door, prepare for another wild ride with the new season's exciting episodes. And there's just no better way to kick-off the new season than with an ice-cold glass of Kraken Baltic Porter by Baguio Craft Brewery and the Carnivore Lechon by Leonardo's Lechon at Le Jardin...
This July, Chef Jonas Ng (L) and his feisty and irreverent style takes on primetime at The Lifestyle Network for the second season of Chef Next Door. And just like real kitchen scenarios, find out how Chef Jonas Ng tackles the daily realities of space, time, and budget with relevant and clever hacks that you can apply at home.
Chef Jonas Ng's Le Jardin at The Fort is up there on the list of the metro's finest dining establishments offering authentic French cuisine (for more on Le Jardin, see my previous post, Elegant French Cuisine High Above The Fort at Le Jardin), and the perfect setting to kick off the second season of Chef Next Door with its impressive view from the top.
The creative culinary driving force behind Le Jardin (more on Le Jardin on my earlier post at Elegant French Cuisine High Above The Fort at Le Jardin) and Huat Pot Restaurant in Greenhills (more on Huat Pot Restaurant on my previous posts, Hot Pot? Make That Huat Pot! and Tips For A Perfect Huat Pot Experience), Chef Jonas Ng continues to blaze new trails in his culinary journey that started as a child, recalling childhood days with his mother at the kitchen preparing epic meals for the family. An advocate of continuous learning, Chef Jonas Ng believes that one should always strive to be better, improving every single day. It's a philosophy that he falls back on tackling the daily challenges in the kitchen, revealed in the new season with his "#chefninjamoves", creative solutions for every kitchen crisis. There's no need to panic in the kitchen, just let Chef Jonas Ng take you through some cool hacks that you can replicate at home.
At the launch, Chef Jonas Ng shared the moment with his special friends from the industry (L-R) like Nard Aquino of Leonardo's Lechon, Chris Ordas of Baguio Craft Brewery, and Karen Young of Karen's Kitchen, followed by a live performance by The Bloomfields (R). Very cool.
Another glass of Kraken Baltic Porter by Baguio Craft Brewery and a platter of the Carnivore Lechon by Leonardo's Lechon, and the launch gets in the proper celebratory vibe (for more on Leonardo's Lechon, see my previous posts, A Family Affair at Leonardo's Lechon, a second encounter with Round Two with the Carnivore Lechon by Leonardo's Lechon and a typical day at the roast pits at Just Another Day at Leonardo's Lechon).
The juicy lechon slow-roasted on fiery hot charcoal for hours is richly flavored by Leonardo's Lechon's secret spices and seasonings, infusing the pork with bold notes. But this is the Carnivore Lechon, stuffed with Hungarian Sausage, Kielbasa, Chorizo, slabs of Bacon, Potatoes and Roasted Garlic. 'Nuff said.
But there's more. A tempting selection of indulgent handcrafted desserts made with the finest ingredients by Karen's Kitchen (L) were served during the launch, along with tasty Granola by Wit's Sweets & Savories (R), with granola, cacao nibs and green mango for a sweet and tart snack that's healthy too.
Also at the launch, guests enjoyed artisan ice cream by Fog City (L) in various flavors, along with unlimited refills of craft beer by Baguio Craft Bewery (R). It is, after all, a food program, and guests were treated to some of the metro's best during the launch.
Le Jardin's kitchen also served tasty appetizers during the event, with pork love served three ways starting with the refreshing Rillette de Porc Salad...
...the crisp and savory Rillette de Pork Tortilla Empanada...
...and the Rillette de Porc Sandwich, each one pairing perfectly with the craft beers of Baguio Craft Brewery.
Great food, good vibes, and good times, just like the Chef Next Door. And you can expect a lot more with the second season's new episodes. Catch Chef Next Door Season 2 on The Lifestyle Network every Wednesday at 9:30 pm, Thursdays at 1:00 am, Saturdays at 6:00 pm, Sundays at 10:00 am, Mondays at 3:00 pm, and Tuesdays at 12:00 mn. One more platter of the Carnivore Lechon and a shot of Kavalan (thank you, Chef Jonas!), and a toast to another successful season...
