Located at the second floor of Newport Mall, Wolfgang's Steakhouse brings one of New York's finest to the metro. With nine branches across the US, one in Seoul, and three in Japan, Wolfgang's Steakhouse continues its global expansion with its very first location in Manila.

The look and feel is consistent with the classic design elements of its original location in New York, with a long mahogany solid wood bar, wooden planked floors, and dark wood tones. Inside the spacious interiors of Wolfgang's Steakhouse, you'll find a special room displaying a selection of the world's finest whisky.  

Wolfgang Zwiener remains actively involved in the global management and operations along with his son, Peter Zwiener, Wolfgang's Steakhouse's President and Managing Partner. A well-stocked wine cellar and elegant private dining rooms are just some of the impressive features of their first branch in Manila.


After forty years with Peter Luger's in Brooklyn, armed with experience in the dry-aging and broiling process of premium steaks, why retire? For Wolfgang Zwiener and his son Peter, the allure of opening their very own establishment, being their very own bosses, was an opportunity not to be missed. With fourteen branches in the US and Asia, with more on the way, steak lovers around the world definitely have more than enough reasons to celebrate. And now, Wolfgang's Steakhouse redefines Manila's culinary scene with their very first branch in Newport Mall. Wolfgang Zwiener takes his experience to a higher level with better food, better service, and more food options. My dining experience began with the signature Beverly Hill Chopped Salad (P 488), with Romaine lettuce, fresh baby spinach, green peas, carrots, corn, cucumber, sweet red pepper, hearts of palm, avocado, and feta cheese, drizzled with a tart house vinaigrette. The vegetables have a fresh snap and crispness for clean flavors and contrasting textures. You can also add Chicken (P 160) or Shrimp (P 208) to the Beverly Hills Chopped Salad if you wish, but trust me, it's great as is. 


The courteous staff, clad in pristine and elegant whites exactly like the original restaurant in New York, then laid our steak knives on the table. Armed and ready, with the signature USDA Prime steaks about to be served...


Fresh from the kitchen, our feast was delicately laid on the table by the staff in white, and the signature Porterhouse steak and Prime Rib were carefully and expertly carved by the staff. 

Wolfgang Steakhouse also serves a variety of sides including German Potatoes (P 288, L) and Steak Rice (P 268, R) with each serving good for two to four. Other sides and vegetables include Steak Fries, Cottage Fries, Jumbo Baked Potato, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Onion Rings, Sauteed Mushrooms, and Green Peas and Onions.


Simply seasoned and finished with a dab of butter, that's all you need for beef this good. The signature Porterhouse for Two (P 5,408/1kg), perfectly grilled to medium rare with a juicy pink center, is an impressive site. The Porterhouse, with its tender fillet and strip, are nearly an inch-thick, just the way a proper steak should be, yet tender to the bite. And no, you won't find thin steaks here. Not at Wolfgang's Steakhouse...

Each slice is tender, bursting with a rich, beefy richness with every bite, followed by an equally rich layer of flavor from the butter. You just don't mess around with steak like this, so ditch any notions of requesting for any sauce...

...or medium and nothing more to maintain the juicy texture of the Prime Rib. If you insist on medium well, or god forbid, well done, it's your steak and you can have it any way you want it. But beef this good is best served medium rare to medium, with its flavors at its juicy peak.


Properly rested, the slices remain tender and juicy, absorbing the richness of the butter for bold and intense flavors that linger long after the first bite.


A side of German Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, and Horseradish Sauce completes the Prime Rib for a perfect weekend at Wolfgang's Steakhouse.
