The vibrant and diverse flavors of traditional Korean cuisine are celebrated by the bay for a buffet feast guaranteed to transport you to the Land of the Morning Calm with each bite. Authentic? Absolutely. When two acclaimed young chefs straight from Seoul helm the Korean offerings at Brasserie on 3 for a little more than a week, that's got to be legit...

The successful and long-running Legendary Chefs Series at Brasserie on 3 in Conrad Manila is back with its latest edition featuring authentic Korean cuisine by guest chefs Hwang Younghun & Lee Junmok from Conrad Seoul starting October 5 to 13. Authenticity, variety, value and quality come together in a lavish and sumptuous buffet feast for a unique dining experience. Hungry? Then, read on...

The Legendary Chefs Series at Brasserie on 3 in Conrad Manila is an innovative concept highlighting specific cuisines from around the world. Like its previous editions, special guest chefs are flown in from various Conrad properties to share their local cuisines and tradition in a casual buffet dining setting. And if you love Korean food, this one's for you.

The duo of Chefs Junmok Lee and Hwang Younghun of Conrad Seoul bring their own personal playlist of cherished Korean recipes to Manila to delight your palate alongside the regular international offerings of the extensive buffet. The varied selection includes both the popular staples as well as the traditional and unfamiliar for an insightful dive into Korean culture. At the exclusive preview, Chefs Junmok Lee and Hwang Younghun presented a sneak peek at their extensive line-up of Korean specialties...

...starting with the Ganjang Sawoojang or raw prawns marinated in soy sauce. The fresh and clean briny sweetness of the prawns lingers on the palate complemented by the subtle sweet and salty hints of the soy marinade for delicately balanced notes. It's a dish that demands only the freshest and finest catch of succulent prawns for real flavors at its purest and rawest and Chefs Junmok Lee and Hwang Younghun guarantees each bite of the large prawn is announced by an audible snap.

It isn't a common dish yet one is delightfully surprised with its fresh flavors. I had several servings of the Ganjang Sawoojang at Brasserie on 3 proving once more there's always something new to discover with the Legendary Chefs Series

The Yukhoe or Korean beef tartare topped with an egg yolk is another dish I enjoyed at Brasserie on 3. That buttery smooth texture and beefy richness without any gamey notes at all is yet another unique Korean offering from Chefs Junmok Lee and Hwang Younghun.

The sweetness of the fresh beef dominates the medley of flavors after each bite followed by the silky smooth finish of the egg yolk further enriching the dish along with the nutty hints of sesame seeds and Korean pear. Raw food and raw beef in particular isn't for everyone, but you just need to try it at least once. And Chefs Junmok Lee and Hwang Younghun guarantee it's a unique experience you'll remember for a long time.

Intricate hand-rolled pancakes with nine kinds of vegetables and beef offer tasty and savory bite-sized treats at the buffet selection of Brasserie on 3. The Gujeolpan or "Platter of Nine Delicacies" brings its delectable play on fresh flavors and textures with each bite.

The hand-rolled Gimbop or rice rolled with various vegetables is another tasty starter for your Korean feast at Brasserie on 3. The freshness of the different ingredients deliver pure and real flavors.

And there's more. Load up on a variety of Jeon or Korean pancakes like the Eggplant Jeon...

...and Mushroom Jeon. The light pancake batter gives each offering a soft yet lightly crisp texture followed by the sweetness of the eggplant and mushrooms.

You can also have your own customized Jeon prepared ala minute at the live station to enjoy its rich notes at its flavorful peak.

The hearty Seunggiaktang or steamed sea bream with vegetables and assorted seafood is another must-try at the latest edition of the Legendary Chefs Series at Brasserie on 3. Each sip warms the palate with the delicate notes of the fresh medley of ingredients.

Then, there's the popular staples like the Tteokbokki with rice cake and fish cake gently simmered in a bold red chili sauce...

...the Dakgangjeong or Korean style fried chicken slathered with sweet chili sauce...

...and the popular noodle dish, Jabchae. And no, you just can't resist a hefty serving of Korean-style stir-fried glass noodles with vegetables.

Over at the Carving Station, a mouthwatering slab of premium beef marinated and seasoned with Korean spices offers yet another savory option you just can't refuse at Brasserie on 3's always impressive buffet selections.

Complete your Korean dining experience with a refreshing tipple with Soju-based cocktails at Brasserie on 3. And go ahead, enjoy another round.

For dessert, the usual Halo-Halo Station is replaced with the Korean Bingsu for that sweet and refreshing shaved ice treat to cap your sumptuous feast.

But save room for two of Korea's famous and traditional delicacies, the Yaksik or sweet glutinous rice with chestnuts, pumpkin seeds, jujube and pine nuts...

...and the Hotteok or sweet Korean pancakes with cinnamon. The appearance, texture and even the flavors almost resemble the local piyaya but with a more pronounced cinnamon hint.
