Today's lunch is the all-time home dining classic, pork chops. But you can easily upgrade it with the Oat Crusted Pork Chop recipe using Quaker Oats. Simply lay out the ingredients listed from the recipe (see full recipe below) and you're ready for a leveled-up version that's rich in flavor and good for you too.
And after just a few minutes of prep and frying, the Oat Crusted Pork Chops are ready to serve. Oat Crusted Pork Chops
Ingredients (serves 4)
Oats Crust
1 Cup Quaker Rolled Oats toasted and finely ground
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1/4 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning (optional)
1/8 tsp Pepper
Marinade
8 Pork Chops with the fat trimmed (you can also trim off the bone)
1 tsp Salt
Egg Wash
1 large Egg beaten
Canola Oil
to fry or grease pan
Procedure
Oats Preparation
Oats-1 Cup (mix of ground oats and whole grain rolled oats)
Divide 1 cup of Quaker Rolled Oats in two. Grind half of the oats using a blender, food processor or a grinder. Toast the other half of whole grain oats in a pan. Finally, mix together ground oats and whole grain oats.
Seasoning
Season pork chop with 1/4 tsp of salt. Create crumb mixture with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried Italian seasoning and pepper. Beat egg and put in a separate bowl. Dip the pork into the egg crumb mixture and let rest.
Frying
Pour 1/4 cup of oil and heat frying pan over medium. Add the chops and fry 3-4 minutes on each side.
Baking Option
Preheat oven to 218.3°C, heat baking dish (do not using glass) in the oven for 15 minutes. Brush oil onto dish and bake each side for 10 minutes.
