The sumptuous seafood feast at
Papillon began with the Vietnamese inspired sugarcane-skewered
Prawn Chao Tom with seasoned black tiger prawn paste. The fresh and clean briny sweetness of the succulent prawns punches through from the very first bite with subtle umami hints from the seaweed followed by the nutty sweetness of the peanut sauce. The complex layers of rich flavors comes together in a seamless and balanced weave for the perfect finish. But the bold notes of the black tiger prawns lingers long on the palate, and you just know it's fresh coming from
Pacific Bay. The all-seafood feast with
Pacific Bay at
Papillon is off to a great start...

The
Pandan Wrapped Seabass with coconut marinated Chilean Seabass brings elegantly nuanced and subtle notes to the palate for another exquisite rendition by
Papillon. Like butter, the Chilean seabass just melts in the mouth releasing a briny sweetness enhanced by the fragrant hints of
pandan. Masterfully executed,
Papillon is spot on with their refined take on a Southeast Asian classic. Like all the dishes served that day, freshness is key in delivering the flavorful richness of any seafood rendition and you can safely expect this level of consistent quality from
Pacific Bay throughout their wide range of offerings.
The
Scallops Taro Puff takes the popular Asian staple to the next level with succulent seared US Scallops and curry leaf. The delectable play on contrasting textures and pure, fresh flavors from the succulent US Scallops transforms the popular dim sum with an indulgent richness. Meticulous execution paired with premium seafood, that's one game-winning combo.
The delicate crispness is followed by a succulent bite for one decadent and leveled up taro puff.
The
Baby Squid Sotong Goreng with chilies and basil leaves draped in a sweet, sour and mildly spicy thick sauce topped with fresh cucumber presents another textural and flavorful expression of Asian notes by
Papillon using the freshest seafood from
Pacific Bay. The play on sweet, sour and spicy hints from the sauce completes the flavors.
One savory bite is quickly followed by another for one more tasty rendition from Papillon's playlist of seafood dishes. Each dish is driven by the freshest ingredients and exacting technique at Papillon where comforting and familiar Asian notes becomes a refreshingly new flavor experience.
One of nature's prized oddities, is there anything more indulgently succulent than soft shelled crab? The
Soft Shell Crab CKT with wok-fried rice noodles features the rare crustacean in a hearty and comforting dish by
Papillon. From the firm yet soft flat noodles to the sweet and mildly sour sauce with just a whisper of soothing heat and the crisp and succulent battered and deep-fried soft shell crab, the
Soft Shell Crab CKT hits all the right notes in another well executed dish. If this isn't on the regular menu at
Papillon, it should be.
For dessert,
Papillon served their inventive and indulgent
Afternoon Tea set with intricate creations including one with an Asian twist on the bottom tier. The classic three-tiered presentation included decadent renditions of
Citrus Meringue Tart with almond cream, curd and kaffir;
Pineapple Panna Cotta with pineapple coulis and the classic Thai
Mango Sticky Rice with sweet fresh mangoes,
latik, sea salt and toasted coconut.
