Spontaneity and Going With The Flow at Chibo Okonomiyaki

Like all good intentions and the best-laid schemes, nothing ever goes according to the plan. Take a usual and ordinary weekday highlighted by a few simple tasks: pick up a few items at the mall and have a light seafood lunch at Chibo Okonomiyaki. Sounds straightforward enough. But with so many tempting options to choose from, a light seafood lunch at Chibo Okonomiyaki is far from being simple...

Go have a light seafood lunch as planned, and have a few extra builds to your game plan for an epic meal. Spontaneity is always the better plan after all. At Chibo Okonoliayki...

After trying their Premium Executive Set Meals (for more on Chibo Okonomiyaki's Premium Executive Set Meals, see my earlier post, Dine Executive Class with Chibo Okonomiyaki's Premium Executive Set Meals), I was curious about the rest of the regular menu. And it was supposed to be a light seafood lunch. The Shake (P 388) or salmon was my idea of a light, healthy and satisfying seafood lunch...

...along with the Assorted Seafood (P 688), a sumptuous set with succulent prawn, premium salmon, and tender squid served with a side of fresh vegetables. Simply yet delicately prepared and executed, the rich briny sweetness of the seafood comes through with every bite. Pair it with the Garlic Fried Rice (P 150) and you've got a meal. Add it all up and your light seafood lunch isn't exactly cheap, but then again fresh seafood always isn't to begin with.

And here's where your plan is shredded to bits. Might as well wing it and enjoy the spur of the moment spontaneity of the situation. A sudden craving for noodles led to the addition of Chibo Okonomiyaki's savory Mix Yakisoba (P 388) to the feast. With pork, squid, shrimp and vegetables, it's a complete meal in itself.

And you just can't leave Chibo Okonomiyaki without having their signature Butatama Okonomiyaki (P 288), the classic Osaka-style okonomiyaki with pork topped with thin yet flavorful bonito flakes and drizzled with creamy Japanese mayo. Come to Chibo Okonomiyali with a plan, and make it even better with some additional tweaks here and there. Spontaneity is, after all, the best kind of plan in any situation. So just go with the flow...
