BGC Got Bagels: Booya Bagels Opens Second Store in Serendra

There's no stopping Chefs Aaron and Nikki Lau when it comes to spreading bagel love in the metro. And for bagel lovers, that's good to know. You can now enjoy their specialty bagels in Serendra at Bonifacio Global City...

Fresh from the successful opening of their first mall-based store in Glorietta 3 (more on my post, Booya Bagels Hits The Mainstream with the Formal Opening of its Glorietta 3 Branch back in June last year), Booya Bagels aims its sights on the bustling BGC commercial and business district with its second branch at Serendra. Time to grab some bagels...

You won't miss the bright and vibrant colors leading you to the newest store of Booya Bagels in Serendra...

...with even bolder colors inside reflecting the unrestrained and free-spirited vibe of the brand. And you can bet interesting things happen when Booya Bagels infuses its own creative spin on the traditional bagel. I first experienced their specialty bagels back in 2022 (see my post #banginNYstylebagels: Now, These Bagels Are Bangin'. At Booya Bagels...) with their legit rendition of the traditional NY Style bagel as well as playfully inventive creations like the Bagel Bombs and Unicorn Poop Bagel and I've been a fan since.

Already with a solid and loyal base of followers, the opening of a second mall-based store was clearly the next inevitable step for the brand. Now pick your table and start bangin' with some real bagels at Booya Bagels

But first, a freshly brewed Americano to open up the palate. Yes, Booya Bagels takes their coffee quite seriously too. Rich and bold with deep flavors, you're now ready for a savory bagel sandwich at Booya Bagels

Behind the counter, a fresh bagel is fixed up and prepped for one of their best-selling sandwich variants...

...the Mediterranean-inspired Roasted Chicken (P 420) filled with tender and juicy chicken breast, hummus, salsa and shredded cabbage.

Wrapped, sliced and served, the Roasted Chicken is a meal in itself with the classic bagel as the perfect vessel to hold the generous filling. The delicate notes of the roasted chicken are enhanced by the subtle nutty hints of the hummus and vibrant tartness of the salsa with the shredded cabbage adding both textural contrast and fresh notes to the bagel sandwich.

Enjoying this bagel sandwich can be messy, but that's all part of the fun. And the bagel holds up well retaining its shape and form all the way to the last bite with its dense texture. It's pure bagel perfection. And now you can find it at Serendra.

But Booya Bagels has even more tasty surprises. A little more than two weeks ago, Chefs Aaron and Nikki Lau offered a glimpse of the infinite possibilities with the bagel as the base through it's limited time offerings. Offered during their Bagel Weekend Flash Sale last January 18 to 19, three new variants were presented.

Driven by key consumer insights from customers, Chefs Aaron and Nikki Lau developed three new creations addressing the need for a bagel that's great on its own without the need for add-ons like the mandatory "schmear" of cream cheese. Meet the limited-time offerings of Salt, Deli Bomb and Ube Milk Cheese Bagels by Booya Bagels

Imagine bagels that's good to go without any add-ons. The limited time offerings not only reflected the brand's creativity, it also revealed a deep connection with its loyal customer base. Feedback is valued at Booya Bagels, and they really do listen resulting in these new limited time creations served last January 18 to 19.

The Deli Bomb is a savory filled bagel topped with crisp garlic bits. A bite brings a flavorful burst from the trio of savory fillings consisting of ham, bacon and pepperoni finished by the subtle nutty hints of the dense bagel.

The Salt Bagel is simply pure bagel goodness with uncluttered flavors from the deep malty hints complemented by that delectable sharpness from the salt. This one's ready to go with no need for any add-on pairing well with the Americano.

But the biggest surprise among the trio of limited time bagels by Booya Bagels has to be the Ube Milk Cheese Bagel. Filled with ube and topped with Cheddar finished by a dusting of milk powder, the Ube Milk Cheese Bagel is one of those unexpected surprises at Booya Bagels

The rounded sweetness from the local ube is perfectly tempered by the creamy yet sharp salty hints from the Cheddar elegantly smoothened by the milk powder. The malty notes of the classic bagel becomes the perfect vessel once again for the novel creation.

This calls for one more Americano, this time iced. The Iced Americano caps another solid experience at Booya Bagels. Since I first tried Booya Bagels three years ago, I knew then that we finally have legit bagels in the metro. And the inspiring story that began with a simple craving for NY Style bagels by Chefs Aaron and Nikki Lau is now one of the best in the metro. But the story doesn't end there, with even more exciting chapters yet to come. And if the limited time offerings are any indication of the brand's creative directions, then these are exciting times indeed.

The limited time offerings are just the proverbial tip of the iceberg as Chefs Aaron and Nikki Lau continue to explore infinite possibilities with the traditional bagel. Along with their current roster of bagels, Booya Bagels is all set to bring their brand of bagel love to Bonifacio Global City with their second store at Serendra. Serendra's got bagels.
