Tea time? Make it grand. Transform your afternoons with a lavish culinary experience as Grand Hyatt Manila elevates the afternoon tea and local merienda tradition with its inspired and grand spin on Filipino and global flavors in an elegant setting. Afternoons just got a whole lot more luxurious with a festive celebration of exquisite flavors in that signature grand style of Grand Hyatt Manila. See you at The Lounge...

Grand Hyatt Manila recently unveiled two exceptional offerings for afternoon tea with the Merienda Cena Grand Afternoon Tea and the Wings of Spring Afternoon Tea menus at The Lounge weaving comfortingly familiar local flavors with global cuisine for a memorable dining experience. The elegant touch of Grand Hyatt Manila's Pastry Chef, Won Yeong Jeon, brings the perfect finishing sweet touch with his intricate dessert creations from cakes, pastries and parfaits for afternoon tea with unrestrained indulgence. Meet me at The Lounge for Merienda Cena Grand Afternoon Tea and Wings of Spring Afternoon Tea...

The Lounge at Grand Hyatt Manila becomes the stage for a grand afternoon tea experience, setting the tone for a memorable and much needed break from the hectic urban pace. The innovative multi-level design is a prominent feature of The Lounge with its visually sleek and modern lines offering a variety of options where you can find your own intimate space at the heart of Bonifacio Global City. With so many offers for afternoon tea in the metro, finding relevant and meaningful differentiation becomes all the more crucial in setting one apart from the other. Grand Hyatt Manila does so in a grand way.

The lavish menus for afternoon tea at The Lounge brings both tradition as well as inventive modern twists for a masterfully executed play on flavors. The Merienda Cena Grand Afternoon Tea offers unlimited servings of Filipino-inspired bites and savories including bao bun sandwiches reinterpreted with a local spin to succulent nibbles of fresh seafood. And yes, you can enjoy as much as you want with the buffet format. Diners can also indulge in the featured live stations at The Lounge like the Waffle Station showcasing Amarena Fabbri compotes along with a variety of sauces. The tempting array of options include desserts as well and a fresh selection of Scones with a playfully inventive tweak. After all, it's a proper afternoon tea. The Merienda Cena Grand Afternoon Tea is available starting March 21 onwards, Fridays to Sundays from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm and is priced at P 1,850 net per person for the free-flowing food menu, P 2,600 net per person with Rosé Wine and free-flowing food and P 3,300 for an afternoon tea set good for two.

The Wings of Spring Afternoon Tea menu showcases Japan's spring season through a limited time offering from March 21 to April 27 2025, Fridays to Sundays from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. In addition to the bao sandwiches with classic Filipino flavored fillings, the Wings of Spring Afternoon Tea menu tempts you with an array of Japanese delicacies from Grilled Tuna, Assorted Maki Rolls and Chirashi Sushi alongside Japanese spring inspired desserts like Cherry Blossom & Yuzu Choux, Cherry Blossom Mousse, Cherry Blossom Cheesecake and Cherry Blossom Roulade plus Affogato for that sweet ending. Grand Hyatt Manila Pastry Chef Won Yeong Jeon brings the flavors of his Korea into the mix with the Seasonal Fruit Bingsu available for an add-on of P 1,700 net for both the Merienda Cena Grand Afternoon Tea and Wings of Spring Afternoon Tea menus. Now let's get started, shall we?

The Lounge offers an impressive selection of loose-leaf and herbal-infused teas from English Breakfast, Summer Gold Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Ceylon Decaffeinated, Jasmine Gold, Fancy Sencha, Peppermint, Pure Camomile, Rooibos Balance, Red Fruit and Lemongrass. My pick? The Milky Oolong

The bold notes of the Milky Oolong brings a soothing and flavorful depth with each sip followed by a creamy and smooth finish. With no milk at all, the natural creamy qualities of the tea drapes the palate with a lingering richness. If you absolutely need your caffeine fix, no worries. The Lounge also offers Brewed Coffee, Americano, Flat White, Cappuccino and Cafe Latte

You can also opt for a free-flow of Rosé Wine or selected non- alcoholic beverages for an add-on of P 750 when you feel the need for infusing your afternoon tea with a spirited tipple.

The first of many rounds of Rosé Wine eases you into a state of serene calm...

...and some engaging conversations for some good vibes. Tea, coffee, wine, pick your libation at The Lounge

Now it's time to pick up your plate. First stop, Scones. You can go traditional and follow the rules with the classic homemade Scones paired with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam or make your own rules with the Raisin Scones with Ube Jam. This is your afternoon tea. And your rules.

The Lounge also features Live Stations with savory offerings like the Vol Au Ven, a light and delicate puff pastry with tender chicken, mushroom and cream sauce...

...and the Croque Monsieur with cured ham, Bechamel and Gruyere. Paired with tea, coffee or wine, you're on your way to a grand afternoon tea experience at The Lounge from that last soothing sip and that first savory bite. Then, The Lounge changes things up a bit with a duo of clean flavors...

The fresh flavors of succulent seafood becomes another elegant layer in the afternoon tea experience at The Lounge...

...with the Shrimp Cocktail served with garden fresh and crisp iceberg lettuce, lemon, Marie Rose sauce and Tabasco...

...and the refreshingly clean and uncluttered notes of Kinilaw na Tuna, a local tuna ceviche cured with spiced vinegar, chili, red onions and crushed pork crackling for that delectable play on textural contrasts. It's this variety of comfortingly familiar and even unexpected flavors along with traditional elements that makes the afternoon tea menus at The Lounge a surprise setting it apart from the usual afternoon tea options in the metro.

In between bites, The Lounge teases the palate with its tempting array of decadent creations of homemade cakes and tarts from the Strawberry Chiffon with fresh strawberries, chantilly and vanilla sponge, the Grand Hyatt Manila Chocolate Cake with maracaibo mousse, hazelnut feuilletine and dark ganache and Calamansi Sable Tart with passion caramel and almond cream. Time for another pot of Milky Oolong tea.

One more soothing sip and you're ready for the next round of savory creations for afternoon tea. The culinary team at The Lounge flexes its creativity with its imaginative rendition of bao bun sandwiches in classic local flavors with the Pork Asado with pickled red onion, radish, soy sauce and rice wine. The delicate and mildly sweet hints of the tender pork are kicked up by the pickled red onions, soy sauce and rice wine tempering the richness in a finely balanced finish...

...while the Lumpiang Sariwa with sweet potato, cabbage, green beans, garlic, fish sauce and peanuts brings a welcome change of pace with its simple and uncluttered notes. The freshness of the ingredients adds a crispness with each bite for yet another play in textures and flavors.

The final act in the bao bun sandwich trio is the Chicken Adobo with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, crispy potato and spring onions. It's always interesting to see familiar flavors reinterpreted in fresh new ways and The Lounge hits it right on the nail with this one.

One more Live Station springs into action with soft and delicately crisp on the edges waffles at the Waffle Station. Prepared a la minute or as you order, the waffles are given an indulgent finish with premium Amarena Fabbri compotes in Mixed Berries, Blueberry and Strawberry as well as sauces like Vanilla Chantilly, Chocolate Sauce and Caramel Sauce

Topped with whipped cream and an extra cube of butter, these waffles complement the array of indulgent afternoon tea offerings at The Lounge. And there's more...

Don't hold back on the intricate and tempting Pralines (P 140/pc) too. Available a la carte, these decadent nibbles continue the lavish play on flavors at The Lounge

Grand Hyatt Manila Pastry Chef Won Yeong Jeon has one more decadent surprise up his sleeves with the Seasonal Fruit Bingsu treat available for an add-on of P 1,700 net to your afternoon tea experience. And just in time too for summer.

The Homemade Mango Bingsu with finely shaved condensed milk, fresh mango, coconut ice cream, passion mango sauce and condensed milk may be shared but you'll want this all to yourself. It's an impressive shaved ice dessert with the sweetest mangoes you just can't pass up.

Complete your afternoon tea experience with the Namelaka Chocolate Parfait with macapuno, caramel and chocolate cremeux and the Mango Coconut Parfait with sweet mango compote, coconut whipped ganache and streuse. Afternoon tea doesn't have to be limited to three tiers of savory sandwiches, scones and pastries. Not at The Lounge

The popularity of afternoon tea is now part of the culinary mainstream with a wide range of options available in the metro. And The Lounge does one better with its sumptuous buffet format and extensive selections. And so far, The Lounge has the upper hand when it comes to the sheer variety of offerings. It's afternoon tea taken up a notch in the grand style of Grand Hyatt Manila

The Merienda Cena Grand Afternoon Tea and Wings of Spring Grand Afternoon Tea menus at The Lounge levels up the tea tradition with its wide array of exceptional and even surprisingly inventive flavors and reinterpretation of classic dishes. Where else can you find afternoon tea and scones with Bao Bun Sandwiches, Kinilaw na Tuna and Homemade Mango Bingsu or a Japanese inspired set of savory and sweet treats in one place? That's right. Only at The Lounge in Grand Hyatt Manila. As afternoon tea becomes a more common offering, taking it to the next level becomes the next step. And the Merienda Cena Grand Afternoon Tea and Wings of Spring Grand Afternoon Tea menus at Grand Hyatt Manila does that in its signature grand style. Afternoon tea? Make it a grand affair at The Lounge...
