Between Jim's 7th Heaven And the Deep Blue Sea: Mad for Garlic Introduces New Cocktails

It was supposed to be just another ordinary day. Until it rained. A sudden  late afternoon downpour flooded the metro's main artery resulting in a two hour traffic jam. Seemed like a perfect time for a few cocktails at Mad for Garlic...

Mad for Garlic, an original when it comes to Italian-themed garlic-infused dishes, introduces nine new cocktails ranging from tropical fruit blends to creamy concoctions, each unique and different. Cocktail classics with cool twists, and surprising, even quirky new blends that can only come from Mad for Garlic.

The nine new cocktails are special mixes created by the Philippine branch of Mad for Garlic, and as all nine cocktails were laid out on the bar, one can't help but be amazed with the range of flavors and colors. Who would've thought pairing Yakult with Soju, or even mango, would result in a cool cocktail? Only at Mad for Garlic...

Mad for Garlic's cool new cocktails include (L-R) the Vampires Wine (P 255), Red Skyfall (P 195), Yujaholic (P 155), Deep Blue Sea (P 175), and Soju Mango (P 175). Vampires Wine is a blend of triple sec, orange mix, Grenadine, Sprite and red wine, a fruity wine concoction that's refreshing and different.  Red Skyfall includes dark rum, cranberry juice, orange mix, and Grenadine in a tall glass. Yujaholic has white rum and yuja mix in a martini glass. Deep Blue Sea is a refreshing blend of vodka, white rum, triple sec, iced tea and pineapple juice, with colors reminiscent of turquoise waters. Soju Mango includes dark rum, soju, triple sec, a sweet mango slice and a dash of Blue Curacao. And there's more...

...Yakusoju Cocktail (P 425 for sharing), Hades' Favorite (P 155), Jim's 7th Heaven (P 215) and Kore Sunset (P 215). The Yakusoju Cocktail is an interesting blend of Yakult (yup, you read it right), premium soju and Sprite, served in a decanter and perfect for sharing. The creamy and slightly sour Yakult provides the base for the cocktail, with the premium Soju adding that subtle kick. Hades' Favorite is a cool blend of dark rum with orange and pineapple juice for that cool tropical vibe. Jim's 7th Heaven is a blend of Jim Beam and Sprite, garnished with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint, a classic cocktail with clean flavors. Kore Sunset is a mix of Campari, dark rum with lemon and orange mix served in a martini glass.

Mad for Garlic's new cocktails offer a wide range of flavors, and you'll surely find one with your name on it. As the rains continued to pour, I had lots of time to kill. And lots of cocktails to try.

Have a cocktail or two before dinner, or while waiting for the rains to subside. Definitely a lot cooler than getting stuck in traffic.

My personal favorites? Mad for Garlic's Deep Blue Sea...

...and the classic Jim Beam blend of Jim's 7th Heaven, perfect before or after a meal at Mad for Garlic. For more on Mad for Garlic's unique Italian cuisine with an Asian twist, and its love affair with garlic, check out my previous post here at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2013/04/go-mad-for-garlic-on-classic-italian.html. After dinner and a few cocktails, go for Mad for Garlic's Panna Cotta (P 225), a rich and creamy dessert for that late night sugar fix...

...or Torta al Cioccolato (P 235), a rich, moist and decadent chocolate dessert. Great food, awesome desserts, cool cocktails, all in one place.

Different, unique, and quirky, ranging from neat cocktail classics to surprising blends, Mad for Garlic's new cocktails are just another reason to check in at the bar.
