Prost! Cheers to Endless Rounds of Good Vibes, It's Oktoberfest at Brotzeit!

It's October and that can only mean one thing. Roll out the barrels and raise up your glass, it's Oktoberfest at Brotzeit...

Paulaner, sausages and pretzels, just some of the essentials for Oktoberfest. Add some genuine good vibes to the mix and you've got a real party. Brotzeit, the metro's finest authentic German bier bar kicks off the Oktoberfest celebrations with exciting and savory offerings for endless rounds of good vibes. Here's Oktoberfest, the Brotzeit way (for more on Brotzeit, see my previous posts, Breadtime Sandwiches at Brotzeit with Helmut, Dirk, Angela, Hasselhoff, Beethoven, Von Trapp and Reuben on their new sandwich offerings and Lass uns Essen! The New Lunch Specials at Brotzeit on their lunch menu)...

This October, Brotzeit unveiled their schedule for the 2019 edition of the much-awaited Oktoberfest celebrations starting with the Grand Party on September 21 at Brotzeit's Shangri-La Plaza Mall location followed by festive weekends at both the Shangri-La Plaza Mall and Shangri-La at The Fort branches. Mark your calendars for these red-letter dates and don't forget to register for that complimentary drink from Brotzeit to get you in that Oktoberfest groove.

Oktoberfest in Munich will begin exactly on September 21, Saturday, at 4:45 pm and runs until October 6, Sunday. The world's largest beer festival, the Oktoberfest showcases the history, culture and flavors of Bavaria in a lavish 16 to 18-day folk festival. During the festival, only beer conforming to the Reinheitsgebot and brewed within the city limits of Munich can be served at the Munich Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest beer is a registered trademark by the club of Munich brewers which includes six Bavarian breweries. One of these brewers is Paulaner, established in 1634, and famous the world over for its signature brews.

And once a year, Paulaner serves their traditional Oktoberfest Wiesn, or Oktoberfest Beer. Brewed only once a year specifically for the annual festival, Paulaner's Oktoberfest Beer is the best-selling brew in Germany. Made with premium hops and malt, the iconic golden lager by Paulaner is on tap right here at Brotzeit for an authentic Bavarian experience. The Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer (P 330-0.5 Liter/P 590-1 Liter/P 1,750-3 Liters) is a reflection of the traditional brewmaster's art, meticulously prepared with the finest ingredients and served at its fresh and flavorful peak.

Paulaner's traditional and seasonal brew is only one of six labels that can rightfully call itself an Oktoberfest Beer, and Paulaner is the leading brew of choice at Oktoberfest. Full bodied yet crisp and refreshingly smooth, the mildly bitter hints of Paulaner's Oktoberfest Beer delivers the vibrant flavors of Bavaria with each sip.

Beer binds the Oktoberfest celebrations around the world together, and good food completes the experience. Brotzeit offers the traditional components of an authentic Bavarian feast that will transport your palate to the picturesque hills of the Bavarian countryside.

I've had my favorites at Brotzeit countless times through the years (for more on Brotzeit's signature dishes, see my earlier posts, Three Must-Try Dishes at Brotzeit on some of my favorites, Taste the Flavors of the Bavarian Spring with Brotzeit's Maifest Specials on their seasonal dishes and Guten Apetit! Brotzeit's New Valentine's and Lenten Specials), but Brotzeit's kitchen truly shines during Oktoberfest serving up traditional Bavarian flavors. For me, the hearty flavors of Bavarian cuisine comes from the freshest ingredients without the heavy use of complex seasonings, spice blends or complicated techniques. The flavors pop up almost immediately, just like the fresh notes of the Bavarian spring. It's real and honest flavors, masterfully replicated by Brotzeit in an impressive platter prepared just for Oktoberfest...

Brotzeit's Oktoberfest Gemischteplatte (P 840) brings an assortment of tasty bites together in one platter, including gourmet cheeses, charcuterie, breadsticks, pretzels, sour pickles and fresh, crisp pickled radishes along with Obatzda, a Bavarian cheese spread. There's a whole lot of flavors in this one platter, perfect with another round of Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer.

The assorted charcuterie deliver rich savory notes followed by a mildly salty finish. This is perfectly tempered by the fresh, clean and tart notes of the pickles and pickled radishes to cleanse the palate as well as provide textural contrasts after every bite. The pretzels are just what you need for another round of Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer with its firm yet soft texture punctuated by specks of rock salt for a burst of flavor.

Another round of Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer needs to be paired with more savory dishes, and Brotzeit offers new tempting and savory options just for Oktoberfest...

...like the Gebratener Rinderbauch (P 570) or Slow-Roasted Angus Beef Belly laid on creamy mashed potatoes draped in a rich lager sauce with roasted vegetables. The fork-tender Angus Beef Belly coats the palate with a layer of beefy richness, intensified even more by the mildly sweet lager sauce. Follow each bite with a spoonful of mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables and another sip of Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer, and do it again. It's Oktoberfest, so just go with the flow.

Brotzeit also offers a lighter option with the Steckerfisch (P 690) or Skewered Mackerel, a hearty oven-roasted mackerel delicately seasoned with a fresh blend of herbs and served with potato wedges. This is one dish that surprised me the most. I usually don't get too excited with fish, but this one proved me wrong. One bite of the mackerel delivered rich, fatty notes from the natural oils of the fish followed by bold smoky hints. A squeeze of lemon adds another layer of flavor for a balanced finish.

Other new offerings for Oktoberfest include the Fleischballchen (P 230) or savory Meatballs with mushrooms and mashed potatoes draped in Jaeger sauce, the tasty Huhnerbrust (P 230) or BBQ Chicken Fingers, Gebratener Mozzarella (P 230) or Fried Mozzarella and Halbes Brathuhn Mit Knoblauch und Krautern (P 400) or Roasted Half Chicken.

In between bites, explore Brotzeit's other must-try brews from Paulaner...

...like the Paulaner Hefe-Dunkel, a dark wheat beer with the deep nutty notes of malt layering your palate with vibrant hints of chocolate and coffee followed by a full-bodied yet velvety smooth finish. The dark brew pairs well with heavier, savory dishes, just perfect with Brotzeit's next entree...

It's a lavish Bavarian feast on a platter...

Meet Brotzeit's impressive Oktoberfestplatte (P 3,500). Just the size and scale of it demands another sip of the Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer. Make that one more round. The massive platter serves 5-6 with its wide array of savory offerings...

...including Brotzeit's Roasted Pork Knuckle, the best-selling Schweinshaxn with delicately flavored juicy pork capped by a lightly crisp layer of crackling...

...the sweet and sticky fork-tender Bavarian Honey Ribs with its thick and flavorful glaze...

...a tender and juicy whole Roasted Chicken...

...and the show-stopping Meterwurst or Meter Sausage. The Oktoberfestplatte is served with potato wedges, pickles, and a variety of sauces like mustard and gravy. Size does matter. More so during Oktoberfest. Brotzeit's massive Oktoberfestplatte immerses you in the festive Oktoberfest vibe with its wide range of authentic Bavarian flavors. That calls for another toast. From the Roasted Pork Knuckles to the Bavarian Honey Ribs, Roasted Chicken and Meterwurst, this literal party on a platter is enough reason to celebrate Oktoberfest at Brotzeit.

The seasonal Oktoberfest offerings at Brotzeit guarantees endless rounds of good vibes, along with the regular menu items like traditional sausages. You don't have to don a lederhosen to celebrate Oktoberfest, simply head on down to Brotzeit and they'll take care of the rest. Great beer, awesome food, good times and good vibes...it's Oktoberfest at Brotzeit.

If endless rounds of Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer and savory bites leads to a sweet craving, no worries. Brotzeit has that covered too with their new Pumpkin Brulee (P 120), an indulgently creamy and mildly spiced pumpkin custard topped with cinnamon cream.

But the fun doesn't end on the table at Brotzeit. Like their previous Oktoberfest celebrations (see my posts, Oktoberfest at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant and Celebrate the Flavors of Spring with Brotzeit's Maifest Dishes), Brotzeit has a program of fun games to keep the good vibes going.

And you can have a chance to win some cool prizes too. Try your luck at the games, win or lose, it's just fun. And that's what Oktoberfest is all about, coming together for the love of beer. From live entertainment to games and prizes, Brotzeit lets you experience Oktoberfest the Brotzeit way.

This September, celebrate Oktoberfest with the world-famous Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer paired with authentic and savory Bavarian dishes at Brotzeit.

And raise your glass high followed by an exuberant toast of "Prost!" Good times and good vibes...it all begins with glass of Paulaner at Brotzeit.
