#ZomatoXABSCBN Marikina Food Crawl: Night Out at Comedor by Miguel & Maria

As the afternoon light slowly fades, the street lamps reveal yet another side of Marikina at the fifth stop in our #ZomatoXABSCBN Marikina Food Crawl...

Nights at Marikina present a whole new dimension to dining out, and the emerging food scene in Marikina is just as active and busy when the sun sets. An ice-cold beer, some tasty bar chow, or a hearty late night meal, head on over to Comedor by Miguel & Maria...

Entering Comedor by Miguel & Maria, one can sense a cool and positive vibe at the establishment. Good times. And it gets better with a cold beer and some bacon. Comedor by Miguel & Maria's tasty Bacon Liempo Strips (P 220) gets you in the right groove, with crunchy pork strips served with house blend vinegar. Crisp with bold and upfront notes, balanced by the sharp vinegar dip and a cold beer, it's just what you need to start your dining experience at Comedor by Miguel & Maria.

Another must-try dish at Comedor by Miguel & Maria is their signature Szechuan Shrimps (P 370), sweet and spicy crispy shrimps deep fried and draped with a sweet and sour sauce. The delicate notes of the crispy shrimps are kicked up a notch by the spicy sauce, with each bite delivering an audible snap, a sign of freshness. Another round of ice-cold brews seems like a great idea with this dish.

But if you're after a hearty dinner, Comedor by Miguel & Maria has that covered too. The Sizzling Kare-Kare (P 370), the traditional peanut-based stew topped with crispy lechon served on a sizzling hot cast iron skillet, should do the trick.

It's amazing how the #ZomatoXABSCBN Marikina Food Crawl featured so many versions of the classic kare-kare in just one day, yet each one distinctly unique and different. Comedor by Miguel & Maria adds their own inventive spin with the addition of crispy lechon and presenting it sizzling hot on a cast iron skillet. The dish remains warm longer, maintaining the flavors at its freshest peak. Add some of the thick sauce on steamed white rice or garlic rice, and a few dabs of shrimp paste, and you've got a winning meal.

Comedor by Miguel & Maria also offers complete set meals, like the Steak Pares Rice (P 180), with tender cubed steak served with fried rice and chicken broth soup. The steak is fork-tender and juicy pairing well with the fried rice and completed by a hearty bowl of chicken soup. I can have this any time of day.

The Marikina food scene is just as busy at night, all you have to do is head on over to Comedor by Miguel & Maria. Have an ice-cold beer. And a satisfying meal. Marikina's dining options are limitless, with so much to offer, as we head to our next and final stop...
