Flavors of El Nido: Pizza Love at Pizza & Amore

A rustic pizza fresh from a wood-burning brick oven...that's pure pizza love. That's Pizza & Amore...

Pizza & Amore is one of many dining establishments at El Nido's hottest new travel destination, Lio Tourism Estate by Ayala Land. With so many dining options, it's almost guaranteed you'll find a favorite during your stay at Lio Tourism Estate. But if its rustic and old-school pizza love you're after, it's Pizza & Amore...

A full day of island hopping, snorkeling, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding can build a hearty appetite, and you'll find quite a number of tasty options at the Lio Beach Village (for more on Lio Tourism Estate, see my post on my other travel blog, Discover Lio El Nido...).

By sundown, the Lio Tourism Estate is transformed, exuding a whole new and different kind of vibe. A tropical and festive mood fills the evening air, and the aroma of fresh-baked pizza from a wood-burning oven adds to the evening's charm. It's time for some good eats...at Pizza & Amore.

There's nothing quite like the fragrant aroma and clean flavors of a freshly baked pizza, straight out of wood-burning brick oven. The open kitchen layout gives diners a glimpse of the magic behind Pizza & Amore's signature pizza, as the chefs delicately bakes each pizza per order so you get it fresh from the oven..

Start your dinner with Pizza & Amore's Affettati Misti (P 750), with mixed cold cuts, Italian ham, and pepperoni served with fresh-baked focaccia on a wooden board.

Follow it up with a hearty serving of Parmigiana (P 420), with fresh eggplant baked in Parmesan cheese, mozzarella, tomato sauce, and fresh basil.

Starters done, it's time for some serious pizza, with Pizza & Amore's signature Carbonara Pizza (P 480), with mozzarella, bacon, onion, and egg. It's the classic carbonara on a fresh-baked crust, with the richness of the mozzarella and egg perfectly tempered by the sharp notes of the bacon capped by a whisper of sweetness from the onions.

Say cheese. Pizza & Amore's Quattro Formaggi (P 550) is a rich and flavorful blend of mozzarella, gorgonzola blue cheese, parmesan, and provolone draped with a tart tomato sauce. The delicately charred crust is perfectly crisp, with subtle smoky hints adding to the flavor of the four cheese pizza.

The country-style Calzone (P 500), with fresh-baked pizza dough stuffed with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and Italian cooked ham is another hearty option guaranteed to satisfy any appetite after an adventure-filled day at El Nido.

Cap your feast with Pizza Nutella and Banana (P 500), a sweet and nutty dessert pizza fresh from the wood-fired brick oven. After, enjoy a few rounds of wine or cocktails, and get into the island groove as you plan the next day's dining itinerary at the new Lio Tourism Estate...
