The Cake Club Unveils New Dishes

Paninis, breakfast and mains, just a few of The Cake Club's newest dishes. Just when you thought The Cake Club was all about desserts, think again.

Long known for its elegant and indulgent desserts, The Cake Club by Diamond Hotel is also a full service restaurant offering an extensive range of dishes. Located at Bonifacio High Street, you can enjoy a great meal and dessert all in one place (for more on The Cake Club's menu, see my previous post here at http://dude4food.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-cake-club-more-than-just-desserts.html).

Start your meal at The Cake Club with their signature Truffle Fries, lightly salted with the rich nutty notes of truffles.

Then, the first of The Cake Club's new dishes arrived, starting with the Chicken Parmigiana (P 415), golden crisped chicken breast topped with pomodoro sauce and parmesan cheese, with a side of vegetables. Deliciously crisp on the outside, over moist, tender and juicy chicken breast topped with a rich pomodoro and Parmesan sauce to round out the flavors.

The Club Sandwich (P 400), a 4-decker sandwich with chicken breast, egg and organic greens, served with fries. A light yet surprisingly filling meal, the tender chicken breast and egg combo provides great flavors, perfect with the side of fries.

Classic Beef Lasagna (P 435), with Bolognese and Bechamel sauce, served with fresh garlic bread. Traditional, rich, and hearty, classic comfort food.

How about some classic Eggs Benedict with cool Pinoy twist? The Cake Club reinvents the breakfast favorite with a distinct local flavor, with Chicken Tocino or Beef Tapa for a cool take on eggs benedict. And it works.

Pinoy Style Eggs Benedict with Chicken Tocino (P 345), served with homemade pandesal, hollandaise topped with fried pickled papaya and a side of buttered asparagus. The sweet chicken tocino blends well with the hollandaise and poached eggs, perfect with the local pandesal. And the crispy pickled papaya adds the finishing touches on flavor and texture.

Pinoy Style Eggs Benedict with Beef Tapa (P 345), served on homemade pandesal topped with hollandaise and poached eggs, another delicious local take on eggs benedict.

Then, there's The Cake Club's new line of paninis, light yet flavorful meals perfect any time of day, in five new and exciting flavors, each different and distinct.

Grilled Chicken and Pesto (P 400), with juicy chicken breast, grilled zucchini, pesto-mayo spread and Emmental cheese. The rich pesto-mayo and Emmental adds a delicious layer of flavor to the tender chicken breast.

The Ultimate Cheese (P 300), with mozzarella and Gruyere cheese. If you need a quick cheese fix, this one's for you, oozing with melted mozzarella punctuated by the sharpness of Gruyere.

Grilled Vegetables (P 315), organic vegetables from Tagaytay dressed with cheese and homemade balsamic dressing. If you're looking for a healthier option, The Cake Club's got you covered. I was surprised with the flavors of the vegetarian panini, and healthy never tasted this good.

Parma Ham and Arugula (P 485), with freshly sliced Parma ham and organic arugula leaves, a personal favorite. The sharpness of the thinly-sliced and flavorful Parma ham and cheese makes this a winner.

Smoked Salmon (P 405), Norwegian Smoked Salmon with cream cheese spread, red onion and capers, another light and healthy option from The Cake Club. Smoked salmon and cream cheese, always a winning combination.
