Culinary Crossovers: Le Petit Souffle Opens Second Branch at Mega Fashion Hall

Turning Japanese with a French accent. Japanese flavors and classic French culinary techniques come together in that distinct Le Petit Souffle style. And it's now at SM Megamall's Mega Fashion Hall...

Chef Miko Aspiras brings the unique flavors of Le Petite Souffle's French-Japanese cuisine to SM Megamall with the opening of his second branch. Now you don't have to go all the way down south to Makati to savor freshly baked artisan bread and indulgent pastries, savory and sweet classic souffles, and even matcha and taro-flavored creations. It's all here at Le Petit Souffle's second branch in Mega Fashion Hall...

Chef Miko Aspiras opens Le Petit Souffle's second branch located at Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall, offering diners up north a taste of his unique cuisine (for more on Le Petit Souffle's distinct French-Japanese inspired culinary style, see my earlier post, French Cuisine with an Asian Spin at Le Petit Souffle).

The quaint Parisian-inspired interiors is rustic and comforting, exuding the same vibe as the first branch in Century Mall. At Le Petit Souffle in Mega Fashion Hall, you'll find the "Workshop," featuring the day's fresh baked selection of pastries like the tempting Maple Pecan Muffin...

...and indulgent Oreo Muffin alongside freshly baked cookies and artisan bread including their signature Squid Ink Ciabatta. The fragrant aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries greet you as you enter Le Petit Souffle. The blend of tradition and creative innovation is what sets Le Petit Souffle's menu apart, and one bite immediately tells you it works.

Start your dining experience at Le Petit Souffle with their refreshing Crafted Iced Tea, like their Forest Berry (P 175 Single/P 375 Carafe), a house blend infused with fresh lime, strawberries, and celery for a fruity finish. Simply pour the infused tea over the strainer and enjoy.

The appetizers at Le Petite Souffle offer diners a preview of their Japanese-inspired French cuisine, with tasty starters like Furikake Pomme Frites, Cheesu and Matcha Puff, and Kinoko Fries with deep-fried oyster and enoki mushrooms tossed in matcha salt and served with tonkotsu mayo. Or you can also try something new and different. And totally unexpected. The Prawn Head Tempura is one such dish, with prawn heads coated in a light batter and deep-fried to a crisp perfection. Dip the whole prawn head in the creamy tartar dip and enjoy crunchy bites, perfectly washed down with the soothing Forest Berry Crafted Iced Tea.

For the mains, the Porc Blanquette (P 475), one of Le Petit Souffle's three savory souffle dishes, offers rustic and hearty flavors. Perfectly executed capped with a fluffy top, the Porc Blanquette includes a flavorful filling of tender pork shoulder and shiitake mushrooms with soft and fluffy Japanese rice.

Great for sharing, the Porc Blanquette delivers rich flavors with the savory pork complemented by the nutty and earthy notes of the shiitake mushrooms, all absorbed by the premium Japanese rice. Other savory souffle dishes include the Chicken Ratatouille (P 400) and Japanese Beouf Curry (P 495).

But save room for dessert. Le Petit Souffle's signature Strawberries and Cream Souffle Pancake (P 295) is the perfect way to cap your dining experience. Pair it with the unique and inventive Hot Taro Latte (P 110) for a winning and indulgent combo.

Who knew taro could pair so well with a creamy latte, then again, you can always expect tasty surprises like this at Le Petit Souffle. Le Petit Souffle's Strawberries and Cream features their classic vanilla souffle pancake topped with fresh Baguio strawberries and vanilla mousseline, served with creme Anglaise and maple syrup. Now you don't have to go far to satisfy your craving for the unique French-Japanese dishes of Le Petit Souffle. Culinary crossovers are a lot closer than you think, right here at Mega Fashion Hall.

Le Petit Souffle is located at the Second Floor, Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City.
