Locavore takes its innovative approach to local cuisine with a playful spin on brunch at its second and newest location at Bonifacio Global City...
Locavore's take on brunch with creative dishes inspired by local cuisine offers a whole new flavor experience, reinventing familiar favorites with refreshing new twists. It's brunch, Locavore style...
With the success of the original location in Kapitolyo, it was just a matter of time when the second branch of Locavore would open. And as everyone expected, the newest branch of Locavore brings its innovative local dishes to Forbes Town Center in Burgos Circle at The Fort, just the perfect spot for a weekend brunch.
Locavore's Brunch Menu should give you an idea on Locavore's innovative approach, like the Pan de Reglang Ensaymada Waffles (P 320), a unique ensaymada waffle with pan de regla stuffing served with cocojam butter, maple syrup, Vienna sausage, bacon, and queso de bola. The dish has all the familiar elements from traditional cuisine, like ensaymada and pan de regla stuffing, cocojam and even Vienna sausages, combined and executed for an entirely new one. And the different flavors just comes together, with bacon, maple syrup, and queso de bola completing the dish.
The local pan de sal is transformed with Locavore's Pan de Sal Loaf & Liver Spread (P 190), with whole wheat toasted pan de sal loaf served with adobong liver spread, chicken floss, marmalade, and grapes. The whole wheat toast has a whisper of sweetness just like pan de sal, pairing well with the tart marmalade and savory adobong liver spread and floss. Sweet and savory, just what you need to start the day right. But Locavore has even more flavorful surprises...
...like the Duck Lugaw (P 320), a comforting rice porridge with stir-fried duck, seared foie gras, chicken floss, soft-boiled egg, ginger oil, fried garlic, and spring onions. The stir-fried duck and seared foie gras adds layers of richness, elevating the usual lugaw with its bold flavors. Served with a variety of condiments, its comfortingly familiar yet refreshingly different. Perfect on a rainy day, even better when the day's sunny, or any day.
Pair your Duck Lugaw with Locavore's TBPL (P 320), their spin on the classic tokwa't baboy, with Tokwa (tofu), Baboy (pork), Pato (duck), and Lengua (beef tongue) topped with fresh herbs. The addition of duck and lengua adds rich savory notes to the side dish, and this one's a meal in itself.
Served on a hot cast iron plate, the dish sizzles as the soy-based sauce is poured, adding to the experience.
The familiar omelet is also given a playful tweak with Locavore's Torta (P 270), with poqui-poqui (an Ilocano egg dish with eggplant), roasted eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, and salted duck egg served with Kutsinta Rolls. The omelet is soft and fluffy, punctuated by the different and distinct notes of the roasted eggplant, tomatoes, and salted duck egg. Fresh herbs and colorful briny fish roe add to the rich flavors. And those Kutsinta Rolls, perfect with butter, is another flavorful surprise.
Locavore also serves sandwiches like the Chori Burger (P 300), with homemade chorizo topped with cheese, egg, barbecue sauce, romaine, and pickled organic cucumber and onion served with Gabi Chips with a side of Garlic Confit or Labuyo Aioli...
...and the Sisig Sausage on a Bun (P 270), both delivering rich and comforting flavors. A chorizo patty draped in barbecue sauce or sausage topped with sisig, Locavore's non-traditional culinary style continues to impress and satisfy your palate with their inventive flavor combinations.
But if you want a heartier meal for brunch, Locavore's signature Binagoongan (P 425), should satisfy any appetite. With Lovavore's pork belly cooked in shrimp paste and coconut cream topped with green mangoes and red onions, you'll want some extra rice with this one. Definitely different, and it works, it's brunch in true Locavore style.
And then, it's just about time for lunch, check out Locavore's other signature dishes on my next post, Let's Do Lunch at Locavore.
