The renewed optimism from the gradual easing of quarantine restrictions is one positive sign from the lingering quarantine experience. Dining out means dining al fresco following the latest health and safety guidelines in this new normal, and that includes enjoying soothing cocktails to end the day right. At The Lounge of New World Makati Hotel, experience a refreshing tipple for the road at the spacious open air area by the lush gardens and tranquil koi pond...
The General Community Quarantine guidelines now allow dining at restaurants with increased capacity, and outdoor al fresco dining remains the preferred option. And when you think about it, it's also a cool way to enjoy refreshing cocktails. Cocktails take on a breezy outdoor vibe at The Lounge of New World Makati Hotel with a selection of exciting new cocktails along with tasty new savory dishes for a unique experience beginning June 1.
The calming sound of water, the gentle open air breeze, the verdant greens and tranquil koi pond transport you to a faraway place without leaving the city. That's the perfect setting for a round or two of refreshing cocktails. At The Lounge of New World Makati Hotel, an afternoon tipple becomes a much-needed escape from the constant feed on the pandemic. For your peace of mind, New World Makati Hotel is also implementing all the health and safety protocols so you can enjoy your leisurely outdoor tipple without worries. But do bring your face mask and face shield required before entering the hotel. Ready for a round of cocktails?
Feel the vibrant summer vibe with each soothing sip with the new specialty tropical-inspired cocktails of The Lounge, like the colorful Pink Lady (P 495 net) with its blend of fresh pomelo pulp sweetened by pomelo skin infused syrup and Kettle One Vodka. The tart sweetness of the fresh pomelo adds a distinctly tropical note to the cocktail, rounded out by the clean and refreshing finish of vodka.
The PiƱanutsa (P 495 net) is a sweet and thirst-quenching cocktail with the bright and sharp notes of fermented pineapple peel and rind or tepache adding layers of flavor balanced by the deep hints of sugarcane and Plantation Rum. The rum and sugarcane combine adding depth to the cocktail. Light and easy, the smooth finish will get you in the groove in no time.
The Jack n' Coco (P 495 net) brings the outdoors in with its blend of jackfruit, coconut syrup and Plantation Rum in a luscious and creamy libation. The new cocktails offer soothing sweet notes to complement the rum or vodka base. In addition to the new cocktails, guests can enjoy classic concoctions like the enduring Old-Fashioned, Negroni, Whiskey Sour and other cocktails at The Lounge.
After a round of cocktails, some tasty pairings are in order. Starting June 1, The Lounge at New World Makati Hotel will be serving new dishes alongside its wide selection of cocktails. The savory offerings include a savory trio of Sliders delivering a bold and beefy punch with every bite. The thick and juicy beef patty slathered in cheese and topped with garden-fresh and crisp lettuce, dill pickles and tart tomatoes on a soft mini brioche bun deliver all the flavors you love on a slider and then some.
The creamy Prawn Soft Rolls offer the fresh snap and briny sweetness of succulent prawns slathered in a creamy dressing and topped with fresh salsa and herbs on a soft brioche bun. Indulgently rich yet light, the Prawn Soft Rolls bring delicate and nuanced notes to the palate pairing well with the new cocktails at The Lounge.
The Bikini Sandwich with Jamon Serrano brings the sharp notes of premium Spanish ham and cheese on soft yet crisp bread. It's a deceptively simple sandwich yet the flavors are both bold and savory. It's another must-try from the new menu of The Lounge. The pronounced flavors of Jamon Serrano are tempered by the soft melt-in-your-mouth cheese that will have you going for another big bite. And a cocktail. Think ham and cheese with a Spanish spin, and it works.
The classic Salpicao with fork-tender slabs of beef in olive oil and garlic is a mandatory dish with cocktails, and the version of The Lounge is spot on. Tender and juicy, the premium beef just drapes the palate with so much flavor capped by the garlic notes. Your afternoon tipple at The Lounge becomes a festive feast with the new dishes...
...but you can make it even more special with your all-time favorites from Jasmine (for more on Jasmine at New World Makati Hotel, see my previous post, Dining in the Next Normal: All-You-Can-Eat-Dim Sum Weekends at New World Makati's Jasmine) like the popular Har Gao or Crystal Prawn Dumplings...
...the delicate and savory Pork Puff Pastry sprinkled with sesame seeds stuffed with a richly seasoned pork filling...
...and the specialty Crispy Pork Belly, a tempting slab of crisp and juicy pork capped by a layer of lightly crisp crackling and served with hot mustard. When you're looking for an intimate yet spacious open air spot for a tipple and tasty bites, The Lounge at New World Makati is your hidden sanctuary. Afternoons at the al fresco area of The Lounge lets you enjoy those special socially-distanced moments in the long days of quarantine.
An Old-Fashioned for the road. Enjoying cocktails al fresco in the new normal offers a refreshing spin on some of the things we loved doing back then. It's also reassuring to know we can enjoy the simple pleasures even in this new normal. Open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, the al fresco area of The Lounge at New World Makati Hotel is the perfect spot in the city when you want to take that much-needed break with your favorite cocktails.
